Having a Gaslow system offers major benefits in convenience and cost savings for motorhome/caravan users, allowing you to refill at LPG/Autogas stations like your car, avoiding heavy bottle swaps, finding replacements in Europe, and paying significantly less (often 50%+) for gas, with features like a built-in gauge and app monitoring to prevent running out.
Key Benefits:

Convenience: Refill at LPG forecourts, just like car fuel, without removing the cylinder.
Cost Savings: LPG at forecourts is significantly cheaper (often half the price) than traditional exchanged gas bottles (Calor/Flo Gas).
Europe-Friendly: Essential for European travel as standard bottles aren't interchangeable; you can refill anywhere with LPG.
No More Heavy Lifting: Bottles stay fitted in your vehicle's gas locker, eliminating the need to carry heavy cylinders.
Top-Up Anytime: Built-in 80% safety valve allows you to top up whenever needed, preventing unexpected run-outs.
Monitor Levels: Contents gauge and optional app monitoring let you track gas levels easily.
Universal Fit: Designed to fit most motorhomes and caravans.

Who it's Best For:

Frequent travelers in the UK and Europe.
Full-time motorhome users.
Anyone wanting to save money and avoid the hassle of bottle exchanges.

Considerations:

Initial Cost: The system has a higher upfront cost than standard bottles, so it takes time to recoup the investment.
Availability: While widespread, finding LPG stations (Autogas) is generally easy in the UK and Europe but requires planning in very remote area

Oversizing a diesel heater for a campervan will cause major issues like
carbon buildup (sooting) from running too low, poor burn-off, potential overheating, excessive fuel/power draw, and it can be physically too large for the space, but you can mitigate it by running it on high for 15 mins before shutdown to clear soot and using its thermostatic control effectively to cycle properly.
Problems with Oversizing

Carbon Buildup (Sooting): The biggest problem; if the heater can't run high enough to get hot, it won't burn fuel efficiently, leading to soot clogging the combustion chamber, causing poor performance and failures.
Overheating/Too Much Heat: It can quickly cook the inside of a small space, forcing you to crack windows or vents, making it inefficient and uncomfortable.
Higher Power/Fuel Use (Initially): Larger units draw more power (especially during glow plug start-up) and use more fuel when running at full tilt, even if they throttle down later.
Physical Size: Bigger units take up more valuable space in a campervan.
Cycling Issues: It might short-cycle (turn on and off frequently) if it heats up too fast, which isn't ideal for burn-off.

Solutions & Best Practices

Burn-Off Cycle: Run the heater on high (or at least 50%) for 10-15 minutes before shutting down to burn off any soot.
Thermostatic Control: Use the thermostat to let it throttle down to a low, quiet setting once warm, or cycle the heat, which is better than running constantly low.
Insulation Matters: Proper insulation reduces heat loss, meaning you need less power to stay warm.
Ventilation: Install with multiple ducts to distribute heat, and consider closing some vents to direct heat where needed.
Proper Sizing: A 2kW heater is often enough for well-insulated vans; 4-5kW might be better for larger or less-insulated builds, but 5kW can still be overkill.

Truma combi E complete heat exchanger replacement. Truma Combi 2E/4E/6E what a significant upgrade from a previously available Combi Elements Kit, with which, after years of reliable service, has been phased out by Truma's decision.

We once could replace the elements as a genuine part, but after some enthusiasts trying to do the job themselves, damage to the exchanger led to the decision buy Truma to only supply this kit.

There's one good thing about this kit, the opportunity to clean all the dust from within the heater, which give's the boiler a good service.
