Well, this was a fun one. Stage 3 Audi S3 Saloon custom tuning session in for ECU tuning and gearbox tuning.
This fantastic Audi S3 had plenty of modifications and therefore required our custom tuning session service. We tuned this vehicle over 2 days and completed almost 50 runs on our dyno to get it safely to the 500bhp club (501bhp uncorrected, to be exact).
When this particular car had its parts fitted elsewhere, the shop applied a low-torque base tune to ensure the customer had no running issues with the new components. The owner then wanted the vehicle fine-tuned to get the most out of their upgrades. The base tune produced decent power but rather low torque (as intended by the tuner). The turbo fitted on this vehicle, however, is rated to 520bhp.
On day 1, we completed a few base dyno runs, applied our gearbox tune, and installed a 4-bar map sensor. We then got onto tuning the ECU and started slowly but surely increasing boost to ensure the various components in the engine weren't a limiting factor or being pushed too far.
The turbo installed on this vehicle can handle 2.1 bar. Some tuners have been known to push this to 2.2 but as the customer wanted to achieve reliable and safe power, we settled on 2 bar of boost with perfectly healthy and happy data logs.
Overall, this vehicle now runs +187bhp and +257nm over a stock car.
