💧 Why We Carry Out Damp Repairs in Our Dedicated Workshop

Not all damp repairs are the same.

At A38 Caravans & Motorhomes, every damp repair is carried out in our purpose-built indoor workshop, giving our engineers the time, space and equipment needed to carry out repairs to the highest standard.
Why does this matter?

✔ Your caravan or motorhome stays completely dry throughout the repair process.
✔ Large sections of furniture and interior panels can be safely removed where necessary.
✔ We have access to specialist equipment and machinery that simply isn't practical to transport.
✔ Structural repairs can be completed accurately, with components left undisturbed while adhesives and sealants cure correctly.
✔ Every stage of the repair can be carefully inspected before reassembly.

Damp repairs are rarely just about replacing a soft wall panel—they often involve tracing the source of the water ingress, removing damaged materials and rebuilding affected areas correctly.

Another day another air-con unit being fitted. This warm weather has certainly seen lots of people enquiring. We have yet another one to do as soon as we have received the kit from Truma.

This particular caravan had to have the hole cut in the roof, the roof then strengthen, a channel made above the ceiling to enable cables to be run, then cables being pulled through all the way to a suitable power source.

🔧 Another incredibly busy week here at A38 Caravans & Motorhomes! 🚐

It's been another full-on week in the workshop, keeping all of our engineers busy with a huge variety of work. No two days are ever the same!

This week alone we've been:
✅ Manufacturing bespoke interior panels for an older motorhome.
✅ Carrying out Truma diagnostics.
✅ Completing full caravan services and motorhome habitation services.
✅ Engine servicing
✅ Continuing with several extensive damp repairs, all of which are making fantastic progress.
✅ Completing service repairs and MOT preparations.

Mal is also busy fitting a Truma Aventa Gen 2 air conditioning unit, ensuring another customer can enjoy cool and comfortable touring throughout the summer.

Alongside this, we're undertaking the complete restoration of a twin axle trailer that had been standing unused for many years. Every component has been stripped down, including the chassis, which is now being carefully prepared and coated in Lanoguard to protect it for many years to come.

It wasn't just caravans and motorhomes this week either! We were pleased to help one of our neighbours by providing secure space on our site for five HGVs delivering shipping containers, which are being converted into temporary accommodation during a house build.
