Now this is a countdown clock we're excited to see!

A company is only as good as the people who work there and the skills/experience they bring to the table...

At RTS Group, we see ourselves as a work family and our Wellbeing Champions wanted to take a moment this festive season to recognise the great work done by everybody.

We got everybody in the company to write a message one of their colleagues, celebrating the contributions they have made this year. These were added to e-cards which are scheduled to send a spark of joy company-wide on Friday!

Cruse Bereavement Care are the leading national charity for bereaved people in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

They offer telephone, online chat, individual and group support and have a network of specialist bereavement experts who can support you in the moment or with a wider understanding of grief. They have produced several booklets that help with understanding grief and their services also extend to bereaved children.

When life gave us another lockdown, RTS Group used this as the perfect opportunity for a company-wide challenge inspired by the forthcoming . To raise money for Cruse Bereavement Care Leash of Life, 35 colleagues walked, ran, cycled and danced the 6,000 miles between the RTS Group office in Notton and the main stadium of the Olympic Games in Tokyo. We started on the 1st February and hoped to complete the distance in 8 weeks. In reality, the challenge was so much fun we managed to almost double our target by reaching 11,000 miles and raising £250 for our two charities. Gold medals all around! 🥇 🏆🎉

Every year we select two charities (1 national and 1 local) to support by raising awareness and donations. Our Local Charity this year is Leash of Life based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire who rescue Romanian street dogs (most of which have been captured and are being kept in kill shelters). The charity transports dogs over to the UK & then places them in temporary foster care until they can find them a permanent home.

Many of these dogs are traumatised, either by the treatment of the dogcatchers or employees of the shelters or having witnessed the killing of kennel mates at the shelter.

The charity relies solely on donations using them to fund the ever-increasing costs of transportation from Romania.

Should an event be stand-alone or be part of a wider campaign?

As COVID-19 continues to disrupt business, we have changed the way we have delivered events to the little and often model. These include Live Event Broadcasts, Digital Events on Demand wrapped with communications, knowledge checks and next steps. As lockdown lifts, we predict that digital and virtual events will continue to play an important part of event campaign.

Our trekkers have trekked to 🇦🇺 ☺️ 10,284 miles so far but we are counting up the last few miles for today.

Inspired by this years upcoming we set out to Trek to Tokyo (6k miles) in 2 months, but ended up extending our trek a bit further because getting to Tokyo wasn't enough! In the last few days, we have reached Sydney!

We’ve been Trekking to Tokyo!

🚶‍♂️🏃‍♀️🕺💃🏇🤸🚵‍♂️🚴‍♀️

Starting on 1st February we set out from the RTS head office to walk, run, ride, dance and cartwheel 6000 miles to Tokyo (inspired by the Olympics) in 8 Weeks. As individuals, we picked a country to represent collecting medals along the way. So far we've handed out 120 Gold medals 62 silver and another 62 bronze medals across 35 countries

We reached Tokyo last week, although in true RTS style (not mentioning any 'un'healthy competitive nature 🤪 of certain people in the company!) we have ventured beyond Tokyo, reaching the Island of Honshu this week. Home to Mount Fuji and Lake Biwa achieving 8800 miles in just 7 weeks. As we enter into our final week, we hope to cross the 10,000 miles milestone. Fingers crossed!

A huge round of applause 🥳 to all our colleagues who have been collecting numerous gold, silver and bronze medals the effort and achievement has been brilliant.

We have also been raising donations for our chosen charities Cruse Bereavement Care and our local charity Leash of Life

We are the UK's leading bereavement charity that helps people through one of the most painful times in life – with bereavement support, information and campaigning.
