So, the weather is heating up again and we're all looking for ways to stay cool π₯
While you're putting on your SPF and shades, here are a few things you can do to stay safe in your car, and beat the heat:
KEEP YOUR FLUIDS TOPPED UP...
Keep extra water in the car for you and your passengers, especially on long journeys. It's easy to get thirsty in the heat, so hydration is key π₯€..AND YOUR CAR'S TOO!
Oil, transmission fluid, coolant, and brake fluid can all be evaporated in hot weather. Give your car a bit of TLC and make sure your car doesn't overheat by keeping them topped up.
SLIDE THOSE WINDOWS UP
Leaving your windows and sunroof open welcomes a nice, cool breeze. But it can also welcome thieves, too!
Your Car Insurance policy won't cover you for thefts that happen due to a window/sunroof being left open. So if youβre leaving your car, make sure that your windows and sun roof are closed.
TYRE CHECK
High temps can make existing tyre damage much worse. To avoid a breakdown or blow out, make sure you check the tyre pressures and tread depth before you drive.
You can check your treads by using a 20p coin.
Pop it in the main tread groove of your tyre. If you can see the outer band of the coin, then your tyres need checking, as they may be below the legal limit and unsafe.
