WE HAVE CLOSED!!

Hi folks. I have taken the decision to Close down Northside Performance with immediate effect.

Due to now not residing permanently in Orkney, it has become increasingly difficult to balance the business, other commitments and my work offshore.

What started as a Hobby rapidly grew but this has meant that my own projects and cars have got left behind, made worse by being in Orkney around 2/3 weeks In every 13/14. This also meant that our premises in Birsay where not suitable for the increased trade, with increasing noise levels and vehicle traffic making it unsustainable.

We will still be available to our trade customers on a mobile as needed basis and as always for our long term customers we are still a message away for advice and support. For any as required tuning we will be available through our trade customers however the Rolling Road will not be available. No work will be conducted from our premises going forward and these will now be strictly used for my own cars so I can attend some shows in 2025.

Long term the plan is to relocate in Central Scotland however for now I close this chapter of Northside Performance.

Working mobile to attend an immaculate Jeep for an Ad-Blue issue. After a discussion with the customer it was decided to also apply our stage 1 software to the vehicle.

Using our fully Dyno tested software which we tweaked to suit the vehicle using data logs on the road test, the performance of this Jeep is absolutely transformed. The 3.0L V6 engines in these offer great performance gains and respond very well to tuning.

Standard: 246bhp and 570nm
Tuned: 280bhp and 630nm

We've been extremely busy recently so apologies to anyone that is still awaiting a reply, I'm hoping to get through them all in the next few days.

I have some exciting news to share with everyone as well, still finalising some details with regards to expanding the business which will result in an improved customer experience and add to the services provided!

Out working mobile today in Ardrossan to a client's L200.

Initial road test and logs revealed a boost problem with no VNT actuator position feedback. Quick check over and it was discovered the wiring harness had been cut/pulled out. I suspect this had happened when a new turbo had been fitted which was also checked over and found to be in good health. We repaired the wiring and then proceeded to tune the RA6 ECU on the bench with our kess3

Post tune road test revealed much improved pulling power and no ECU DTC codes stored with the wiring repaired.

Standard: 181bhp and 430nm
Stage 1: 200bhp and 500nm
Gains: +19bhp and 70nm

Peugeot Expert recently in with us for our full lifetime solutions package. No more limp mode caused by faulty DPF and no more countdown to no start caused by failing ad-blue systems.

This vehicle had actually had a dpf solution applied elsewhere but no mechanical work to go along with it, leading to a blocked dpf and customer with no work van 🤦‍♂️

Solutions and hardware all sorted and vehicle back to the customer so they can get back to work 👌
