First of all, let’s congratulate Alec on an entertaining but beautifully smooth first time pass this morning with only ONE driver fault 👏🚗💨

Alec is also the last ..but definitely not least pupil to take his test in Viny the Second ❤️ he joins the 90 other pupils who have passed their tests in this Yaris since 2023.

Previous pupils will already know why my cars are called “Viny” 😂
Viny the Second was preceded by Sir Viny the First… who was exactly the same model of car. In fact, they were so alike that lots of pupils didn’t even realise I’d changed cars at all 🤣

That means I’ve had the Toyota Yaris same model since 2018, so while the prospect of a new car is exciting, I know it might also feel a little scary for some of my pupils. But don’t worry we’ll figure it out together ❤️

There will probably be things the new car does that I’ve never experienced before either, so it’ll be a learning curve for all of us!

So… welcome to the family, Dorey (spelt Duray, pronounced in a French accent of course 🇫🇷🐠)

Named partly in homage to my stunning personality 🤪 🐠partly because of the car’s performance 😂🤦‍♀️🔋… but mostly because it’s the same colour as a Duracell battery.

Not everyone passes their driving test first time, so this isn’t just a “well done” post… it’s an “I’m proud of you for not giving up” post. 💙

For some learners, driving comes naturally. For others, it takes a little longer — and that’s absolutely okay. What really matters is turning up each week, putting the effort in, and keeping going even when things feel tough.

I can almost guarantee that if you keep showing up, sit beside me each week, and give it your all… we’ll get there in the end. 🚗✨

Passing first time isn’t everything. Sometimes it’s about picking yourself back up, brushing yourself off, putting in maximum effort, and trying again. That’s what real achievement looks like. 💪🏼

A humongous well done to Jabi this morning for passing his driving test! 🎉🥳
It may not have been first time… but it was with ZERO driving faults! 👏🏼🔥

It has been my absolute pleasure to teach this young lady to drive. She’s given 100% in every lesson.
Started in mid June and passed by January 💪🏼 that’s amazing Shauna! You should be super proud of yourself. To top it off, she picked up zero faults, earning a clean sheet and big compliments from the examiner. 🚗✨

It’s been a journey 🥰 Your very first lesson was in the worst rain I’ve ever seen ☔️ A lost driving licence, a name change, snow and ice potentially getting in our way, and frozen washer jets but we got there in the end.

A fabulous first-time pass for Maria, with compliments from the examiner on a lovely, smooth drive and just a couple of driver faults.

Pansy, Daisy and Violet, the three grey horses that were owned by Mr Charles Braithwaite, of Corner Farm, Wrelton, near Pickering. They were worked by Mr Eric Bowes of Pickering, who later lived with his family at Park Gates Farm, Pickering and worked for Mr Percy Harrison of Blandsby Park Farm, Pickering. I’ve spent the last hour transferring all of my visual teaching aids into a new folder. There’s been so many changes over the years in how we teach people to drive, and I’ve tried a variety of different publications to help me stay current,some of which have cost hundreds of pounds! But I always find myself gravitating back to my original materials that I was given by my first trainer, Brian 🥰it also has scribblings on a few pages from Karen Bartley.

The original pink folder is now battered and missing its back cover from years of use and countless scribbles with dry wipe markers, now that everything’s been transferred over, it feels as good as new.
The driving bible as it’s fondly known is now reborn 💪🏼
