Goodmorning all, hope everybody had a great weekend! Back to it this week, plenty of availability going forward so get in touch and get booked in!

One of last weeks jobs, we had this Audi S1 in with us for a pretty severe oil leak. We investigated the fault and found the stock plastic sump to be weeping in multiple different places. We gave 2 options to the customer, supply and fit genuine brand new parts, or go aftermarket and ‘upgrade’ to the Awesome GTi steel sump upgrade - our pick, cheaper and better than genuine!

We removed the old engine oil sump, tray and pickup pipe, replaced for the steel kit, replaced the pickup pipe and tray with all new o-rings and sealed up the new steel sump after cleaning thoroughly the meeting faces. Quick oil and filter change as part of this service to finish off!

The undertray was covered in oil sludge and dirt mixed, so we steam cleaned this before refitting, someone’s it’s the little things that complete a job! 🧼

Further customer requested for us to look into some lights on the dashboard…ABS, Stability, TPMS. We did a diagnostic scan on the vehicle and after checking live data found OSR wheel speed sensor not working, we replaced, cleared faults and road tested ready to finish up this job and return to the customer! Fast turnaround even with the aftermarket parts wait time and back on the road within 3 days.

Well we made it to the weekend! Extremely busy week here at RKD, probably our busiest week back so far since re-opening! 🔧BMW Z3 in for full coolant flush after incorrect coolant used by previous owner, and remnants of ‘rad seal’ removed from the system
🔧 VW Scirocco in for boot latch replacement after diagnosis
🔧Audi S7 in for x2 front tyres replacing
🔧Volvo V40 in for aftermarket exhaust backbox delete
🔧Skoda Scala in for front brake discs and pads replacing
🔧Dacia Duster in for interim service and diagnostic scan

🔧Nissan 200sx our personal build we got the rear subframe built back up, polybushes installed, fuel tank refinished and installed, brake lines made and fuel pipes ran to the custom mounted bmw filter

Nice start to the week here, one of our jobs to start the week we’ve had this Vauxhall Mokka in with us to investigate loss of clutch pedal…

We had the vehicle recovered to us yesterday morning, got straight to diagnosing the fault and the vehicle is now ready for the customer to collect!

Upon inspection we found lots of brake fluid around the gearbox bell housing, got the camera in and confirmed our suspicions of a failed clutch concentric slave cylinder inside the gearbox.

Stripped down, subframe removed and gearbox taken out of the vehicle, cleaned inside the gearbox, replaced the failed concentric slave cylinder and pipe, fitted new clutch kit due to oil/fluid contamination on the clutch plate.

Re assembled with new gearbox oil, fresh brake fluid and now ready to be driven away again! ⚙️🔧

One of last weeks jobs we had this stunning Mk7 Golf GTi in with us for some exhaust changes!

🔴Cobra - Sports Cat downpipe
🔴Cobra - Cat-Back System with Resonator and Backbox - Twin tip

This customer came to us for exhaust changes due to wanting more power from the vehicle and with mapping booked, wanted it fitting beforehand! Customer opted for the Sports Cat due to being a road car so keeping things road legal this is the best option for achieving the most power in comparison to a Decat downpipe which are for track use only.

Finally! New signage is up, and you can now find us with ease! Sorry for any difficulties finding us these past 2 first weeks reopen, however no reason not to be able to find us now!

Keen eyed customers will notice on the advertisement board we have paint & bodywork on there as services we provide. Please be patient with us on this one, we’ve put it on there so we didn’t have to have another sign made when we have the paint shop done and ready to be used, this is not something we’re rushing to do until we’re fully settled back into usual work.

We have lots of space available for bookings in the workshop, so please get in touch and we will help you in every way we can! ⚙️🔧

Note to customers, we have a safety chain coming for the workshop door, but until this arrives we ask, you please use the ‘entrance’ door. For both our safety and yours, we can’t have anyone walking into the workshop so please stick to the small door and this will bring you into our reception where you may sit and watch whilst you wait if needed.

Good Morning everyone! We hope everyone’s having a good week, we certainly are here at RKD! We thought this week rather than continuous posts of customers cars, we’d save that till the weekend and update you on one of our personal cars!

Inbetween jobs this week and on an evening, we’ve been here making some progress on a personal build

Nissan s13 200sx - Project 2027 season Drift car🚗💨

This week, we’ve completely stripped the underside, removing the rear subframe assembly and fuel tank, before stripping the shell all the way back to bare metal. Treated any surface rust, We then epoxy primed the undercarriage, seam sealed the areas needing it, and finished by coating in our favourite underbody sealer, Gravitex. Turned out really nice, underside is like new again and completely rust free!

Currently cleaning up all the rear suspension components and fuel tank ready for treating, prepping and painting before fitting polybushes and going back together.

This 200sx is now going to be powered by a bmw m54b30 engine, after we custom fabricated engine and gearbox mounts to fit this in this chassis and next weeks job is to get the turbo manifold and turbo fitted, ready for some plumbing to be done! Massive project this one, with lots of things to fabricate and figure out due to not being a common engine swap.

🔧Nissan 370z in for oil leak inspection and repair, rebuilt aftermarket oil cooler sandwich plate
🔧VW Golf R in for EBC front brakes and standard rear brakes replacing
🔧Ford Fiesta in for MOT and TPMS fault diagnosis
🔧Mini Cooper in for overheating issue and brakes all round, new radiator fan due to failed wiring and resistor.
🔧VW Caddy in for ‘soft limp mode’ investigation, carried out smoke test, injector leak of test, diagnostics, further investigation needed for this one. No fault codes!
🔧Ford Mondeo in for x3 TPMS sensors replaced
🔧Seat Ibiza in for suspension knocking diagnosis
🔧Mini Cooper in for MOT and repairs, driveshaft and lower suspension arm bushing replaced
🔧Hyundai i30n for GPF delete and cat back exhaust
🔧VW Golf GTi in for turbo back exhaust and decat downpipe
🔧Ferrari 458 in for checkover and routine tests

You’ll probably notice we’re trying to be better on our social media since the move, that’s because it’s what seemed to be requested a lot! Our engagement has gone up substantially since the move, and it seems from the bookings and messages we receive that you like to see some of the jobs we get day in day out!

Another aftermarket exhaust job today, this time being this lovely Hyundai I30n! Customer supplied parts for this one - something were more than happy for you to do when it comes to the aftermarket side of things!

🔴Remus Cat-Back exhaust system
🔴RPM Performance flexi and GPF Delete

We removed the original system to make way for fitting of this aftermarket system, with all fresh hardware fitted during the process, this supplied system utilises the stock rear exhaust valve, so we swapped this over from the original enabling the customer to decide when he wants the car quieter, or loud mode! Using the stock genuine exhaust valve. Lastly we aligned the aftermarket tips to go with the Remus system to finish off!

How’s your Tuesday going? We’re definitely enjoying ourselves today! Gorgeous Ferrari 458 in with us for a checkover before a long journey at the weekend!

🔴Ferrari 458 In with us for a full routine checkover before a trip ahead of this weekend! The customer has some concerns around some misting on the rear bumper. We removed undercarriage trims and rear carbon diffuser to ensure no leaks and carry out a basic inspection on the engine/gearbox drivetrain.

Customer reported the car doesn’t get driven for very long when it is driven, having an aftermarket Caprista exhaust fitted; exhaust flow is much better than stock on this one, soot has built up in the exhaust and due to some short trips, with some slight exhaust condensation and high pressure comes some spitting of an oily residue, nothing to be too concerned about, just more driving needed! We asked all the correct questions and this customer is going to keep an eye on oil consumption on his journeys going forward just to be on the safe side the engines not consuming more oil than expected!

Fun start to the week here at RKD! One of today’s jobs we had this stunning Mk7.5 Golf GTi in with us for some exhaust changes!

🔴Scorpion Decat & OPF delete downpipe (Track Use Only)
🔴Cobra Sports Cat-Back System with Resonator and Backbox - Twin tip

Customer came to us wanting to change how the car sounded due to already having some form of aftermarket exhaust on the vehicle, however with no resonator or backbox, and full restriction of power due to still having stock Cat and OPF, customer opted for this removing and adding some silencers back in!

This customer requested this work to be carried out enabling him to go ‘Stage 2+’ and is returning to us in the near future for further upgrades! Thankyou for your custom! ⚙️🤝
