Hello all… just a little post with an update from the team here at RKD!

📍WE HAVE MOVED! Here’s where to find us.

We are well underway with our premises move, and we are on track to be back open on the 13th July. Just getting the final bits sorted out and awaiting the new signage to arrive. Our only stumbling block at the moment is waiting on the 3 Phase meter installing but hopefully be installed before 13th🤞🏼

We’re very excited to show you all the new premises!

A reminder we are still taking bookings for when we re-open so don’t hesitate to get in touch for any of your vehicle needs! Thank-you all for the support and patience whilst we get sorted. 👍🏻

⚠️REMINDER… WE ARE MOVING!

This week is our last week open in the current premises where we started 3 years ago, and then we are closed for a minimum of a week of working days, until we are set up and ready to re-open in our new and bigger premises!

Last minute bookings available this week, if you need anything, please give us a call or message us and we will do our best to help you get sorted before we close to start our move.

All shares appreciated, and a massive thankyou again to all our customers for enabling such an opportunity after just 3 years of RKD.

Don’t panic, we hope to be open again as soon as possible, in the meantime please don’t hesitate to book in just because we are closed, we are taking bookings!

Reminder, we are NOT closing, we are MOVING! Lots of you may see the ‘To Let’ sign above the door, but this is a reminder we are moving premises on 26 June and will be re-opening on the 13th July on Gillet St. HU3 4JF (Hessle area, just off St. Andrews Quay)

Taking bookings to get you safe for summer before we move, don’t leave it last minute, wether it be you are due your routine service or yearly MOT close to these dates, or just need a general checkover or repair work, please get in touch so we can book you in! 📅

You can check when your MOT is due using the DVLA MOT check or using vehicle apps like My Car Check. Or simply give us a message and we will check for you!

Exciting times ahead! Moving means we can take on more work, and expand our services even further! ⚙️🔧

Performance Upgrades!🌟⚙️

🇩🇪VW Polo GTi

Return customer in with us for aftermarket parts fitting to his GTi ready for ‘Stage 2/3’ Remap

We fitted a full turbo-back exhaust system, including decat downpipe, 2.5” centre resonator delete with a smaller backbox and twin 3.25” exhaust tips.

We also removed the front bumper & assembly from the vehicle to access the stock intercooler ready for upgrades. We replaced the stock cooler for a much bigger VUDU front mount intercooler, keeping all factory ducting and standard mounting points, meaning no modifications had to be made, just some slight adjustments to the cowling to avoid any contact with the bumper.

⚠️**WE ARE MOVING!**⚠️

Long awaited big news that we’ve been waiting to tell you all! We have been here for 3 years now and it’s got to that point we just can’t expand any further due to the size limitations.

With that, a massive Thankyou to all our customers for trusting us and showing your support from day 1 here at RKD! This would not be happening without you🤝

Keeping this post short and sweet as we don’t want any confusion going forward. As you will see, the ‘To Let’ board is up next to our sign, felt this post was needed incase anyone got the wrong idea! We are not closing, just expanding into a new and bigger premises.

-We are here and working as usual until Friday 26th June !!

We will then be moving, so the diary for bookings will be closed from the 26th June to 13th July.

Where are we moving?
Our new premises is 95 Gillet St. HU3 4JF. With plenty around to keep you occupied or get you to your destination whilst we have your vehicle!

Goodmorning to all of our customers, we hope everyone’s having a fantastic weekend! Just a quick notice, the main phone line is off this week until 19th May (Kieran) is taking a well deserved break away for a week on holiday! ☀️🛫

If anyone is wanting to book in, please only message through the website or use the business page to message, Reece will be at the garage whilst I’m off but taking no more bookings as there’s a lot for him to get through already.

Business will return back to usual on the 19th and we have plenty of availability once I’m back!

Please respect that I am away on my holiday and unfortunately I am unable to take phone calls or fly home to fit you in last minute!

Another one of our recent jobs! This one was a big transformation! Customer came to us having supplied lots of aftermarket upgrades for his Clio RS track car🏁

Clio RS in for long list of jobs ready for more track use!

-Customer supplied us with a spare stock rear axle, we got this blasted, and with the supplied kit we did some modifications to the axle. Strengthening kit all fitted up and welded in, stock spring seats removed as the car was now running a different rear suspension setup! We converted the axle from traditional rear axle bushings, to spherical bearings and finish with having the axle powdercoated👌🏼
-Full new coilover setup, now running true rear coilovers on the rear and we fitted Gaz 3 way adjustable coilovers all round
-Gearbox removed, sent away for bearings replacing, and a gripper L*D differential fitting!
-Lightened TTV SMF flywheel fitted with uprated clutch kit and slave cylinder
-Stock these cars don’t all come with a pilot bearing, so we added this!
-Adjustable anti roll bar links and anti rotation links fitted on the front
-New lower radiator support due to a lot of rust on the original!
-Last of all we made some minor repairs to the exhaust system, we found a failed clamp, and some holes in welds, ground back and re-welded and good to go!

Completely transformed the way this car drives, and hopefully this customer is able to knock the time off his lap times after these upgrades!

Been extremely busy as always here at RKD and no time for any social media! We know you all like to see some of what we get upto so going to try do a few quick easy single vehicle posts to keep more active on socials rather than spending an hour doing a long post of lots of jobs!

One of our customers brought back his Nissan Skyline R32 to us for further work ready for the summer events! We got this one ready for UK roads fresh from Japan and it’s been back for some more upgrades and maintenance!☀️🔧

-HKS Cambelt Kit fitted with new waterpump, pulleys, tensioner and full coolant flush
-HKS coilovers removed to fit the new HSD 3 way adjustable coilovers set up exactly to customers requests!
-Dived into a misfire issue, replaced ignition coils for superforma upgrades, and replaced main coil igniter
-Fitted new drilled and grooved brake discs and pads front and rear
-Whiteline front and rear anti-roll bars with adjustable drop links fitted

Busy week here at RKD! Apologies for any lack of communication a couple of days recently. We had a little break away from working on cars and went driving them instead! Private hire drift event at Driftland with some friends for a well earned break from the garage! Some photos below from our time away in Scotland in the RKD car!💨
