Another Team Young Legend Is Made!
High fives going out to Emily who has passed her driving test with only ONE minor driver fault and joins the Team Young Wall Of Fame 👌

Emily is the perfect example of the sort of driver I aim to create, a driver that I am perfectly happy to share the road with myself, reaching high standards of awareness, ability and defensive driving skills that ALL drivers should have in an ideal world!
In reality she is waaay above the standards of most qualified drivers we see on the roads these days 💪😎

The first time I met Emily I knew instantly that she would go on to get an amazing result, she's a very capeable person who puts 110% effort into everything she does, always taken my advice and put that into practice to get the best out of her lessons. 🙋‍♀️

She is an absolutely wonderful person and we have struck up a great instructor / student friendship, we have lots in common, like once living down the same street at the same time yet not knowing each other at the time! 🤯

I've looked forward to Emily's smile and happy vibes brightening my car every lesson,
It's been a real pleasure to help you get over that finish line and gain yourself a full driving license 🤗

Whoop Whoop it's the sound of a PASS! 🙌

Welcome to the Team Young Wall Of Fame Millie who passed her test on the first attempt with only 2 minor driving faults! 😎

From the very first lesson it was clear to me that Millie was a very capeable learner,
She had a lot of great practical qualities that needed to be unleashed and challenged to help her build a solid skill set and lots of confidence in the process! 👌

Millie LOVED tricky and testing lessons, she was always wanting to progress as much as she could, throwing herself in the deep end with challenging and testing situations as often as she possibly could, a proper little warrior princess who never seized to amaze me with how brave she could be! 💪

Millie you've been an absolute diamond of a student, as much as it has been lovely to see your little glowing face and happy smile every lesson as I've got to watch your confidence grow, it was a very special moment to see just how much you lit up with happiness when you conquered those test day nerves and came back with everything you deserve, you made me feel so proud of you 🤩

Enjoy your car and your new freedom, think of all those concerts you can drive to now, make sure you keep those standards top tier and always drive safe!

This weeks new entry to the Team Young Wall Of Fame is Summer, and she is straight in at the top spot with not only a PASS on the first attempt but she returned back to the test center with a ZERO fault drive 👌

That is an achievement that not many can pull off as it requires two major elements:

1. Incredible Driving Skills: the main element. I had absolutely no doubts of this, Summer is an extremely competent and safe driver, who made me feel safe as a passenger, exactly what an examiner would expect from a candidate.

2: Nerves Of Steel.
This was the area that required some real hard work, Summer just couldn't always see her own capabilities and even when she could she would be plagued with thoughts of self doubt and anxieties that could hold her back and have her questioning everything, I couldn't allow that so I just pointed out everything she did great until she got sick of hearing me 😂

In the time I've been helping Summer I've got to see her grow from a very anxious, fearful and insanely caring young lady into a confident, headstrong and even more caring woman who can achieve whatever she wants when she just trusts herself and doesnt let her anxieties control her! 💪

When I walked out to meet you at the end of that test Summer I've never seen a smile so big, I instantly filled up with happiness to see you finally realise your own strength and ability after achieving the perfect drive might have just been one of my favourite moments as an instructor, you didn't only make your own day but you made mine too 🤩

You've been a pleasure from start to finish and I'm truly going to miss seeing you every week for our weekly sharing of what things have stressed us out 😂

As I said to you before that test, you don't need good luck, you only need to believe in yourself and you can do amazing things.
Keep being that amazing driver you are and enjoy your new independence, you are...

Shout out to the latest member to join the Team Young Wall Of Fame...

The Lovely Lauren who only went and scored herself a full driving license with only 1 driver fault, not something many can do 👌

Lauren's learning to drive journey hasn't always been an easy drive, it's been full of emotional speed bumps and personal traffic jams that she has always worked so hard to overcome!
I've seen a level of determination so strong in Lauren that has in return made me just as determined to see her get that win 💪😎

And what a drive it was earning herself that win!, the examiner was literally singing Lauren's praises at the end of the test almost being as big a cheerleader to her as I am!! 🥳 (Nobody could match my cheerleading level!)

I sat in the back watching her locked in, determined to get what she truly deserves, she was so focused and made the test look effortless, like somebody who had years of driving experience already behind them, I must of had the smuggest look on my face everytime the examiner glanced at me in the mirror as I knew it was a flawless performance 😂

Lauren your strength and determination is admirable even though you haven't felt or seen it yourself at times, you're so much braver then you even know and I'm so so glad that I got to witness the drive that got you the gold!
You're one hell of a safe and competent driver and you've reminded me exactly why I do what I do! 🤗

Happy New License Day to Ruby who has only gone and passed her driving test on the first attempt with just ONE driver fault, which is not easy by any stretch and joined the Team Young Wall Of Fame 💪😎

Like all learners it has been a journey of many struggles and some big hurdles for Ruby to climb and conquer. Throughout we have made many changes and adapted lessons to create a style of learning that suits Rubys needs for best progress. 🏋️‍♂️

Every leaner is unique, an important part of the process to developing their skills and getting them over the finish line with a good level of competency to be safe drivers is for me to distinguish what each learners needs are so I can adapt lessons to suit the learning style that works best for them...
That might not be what the learner themselves realise they need! 🤯

Thankfully Ruby put her trust in my expertise and took all my advice, we made some big changes to make her lessons work best for her and ultimately not only did it get her over the finish line faster but it got her over it with an absolutely outstanding result. 🤩

Ruby you have developed into an incredibly capeable driver with ninja reaction times and a level of awareness that some qualified drivers can only dream of having! 👌

We've had struggles and we have had highs, we've laughed, had sing songs and put the world to rights and I have believed in you every turn of the wheels, I'm gonna miss your happy character and seeing your big smile every week!

Dont disappear because you owe me a coffee meetup!, YES you can have a brownie! 😂

Respect going out to Olivia who became a Team Young Legend by passing her driving test today on the first attempt! 🙌

This one was an extremely special and emotional moment for me to witness.
To say me and Liv have shared a crazy journey would be a complete understatement.
Liv had a very unfortunate and traumatic start to her learning to drive journey when only a small amount of lessons in we were involved in a pretty scary accident while we were parked at the road side.
One minute we were discussing how a roundabout works and the next a van driver who was not paying attention smashed straight into the back of us at speed, completely writing my car off and giving us a free ambulance ride to hospital! 😫

An experience that would put even the most bravest of people off continuing to learn how to drive... but not Liv!
A month later she was back in the driver seat frightened and hyper aware of other drivers around us but she was determined she was not going to let what happened stop her from gaining a license! 💪😎

Today with very shaky hands and some heavy last minute anxieties she went out and proved that all the stress she has had to overcome was worth carrying on for! 😎

In a very weird and what felt like a cruel twist of fate the examiner asked Liv to pull up at the roadside on the very road our accident took place!
It was a pretty surreal moment and felt like the universe was just giving her a little reminder of what she has overcome to get where she is today! 🤨

Liv, you are and will always be a very special and unforgettable person to me and I honestly cannot put into words just how thankful I am that you trusted me enough to continue learning with me after we shared such a horrible event! 😇

You're amazing, truly braver then you know and I am going to miss you an enormous amount.
Keep being the overly aware driver you are and dodging the crazies who dont respect the road in the way you do. 😎

You might not need me anymore but you're definitely...

Olivia secures a spot on the Team Young Wall Of Fame after passing her test on the first attempt 💪😎

Well done my little onion!!
I gave Liv that nickname because in the time I have spent helping her learn how to drive and perfect her skills she has brought me close to tears on many occasions with proudness!
In fact there has been times we have both literally sat at the roadside drying our eyes! 😭

We have shared some very emotional moments to get to this test and I feel absolutely privileged that Liv has trusted in me enough to share those moments with me 🤗

On the day the route Liv had felt like all hell suddenly broke loose, it was awful, there were lots of situations to deal with on the road that would have tested the most experienced driver to their last nerve! 🙉🙈

To handle the nerves and deal with every tricky situation was genuinely nothing short of amazing to witness and I was absolutely left speechless at how Liv managed to keep herself calm and commentate herself through it! 🤯

Liv you have one of the biggest hearts in the universe and you have worked so hard for this moment, I am so so proud to be the instructor that could help you reach your goals! 🙏

I will miss our lessons more then you could possibly imagine... I wont miss you almost having me in tears though! 🙈😂

Now go enjoy that license, your zest for exploring and being independent!

Alex joins the Team Young Wall Of Fame after passing his driving test on the first attempt 😎

This is a tough one to put down in words, when I picked Alex up for his first lesson he made a very profound impression on me, we discussed his reasons for wanting to learn to drive and he shared with me some reasons that where personal to him, it was clear to see sitting next to me was somebody who was ready to enter a new phase of strength and determination in their life! 💪

The challenge to make that happen was GAME ON, we got a plan together and we focused on setting goals and smashing them, something which Alex made look easy while picking faults in everything he did during the process, but always reaching and exceeding the targets he set for himself.

Along the way Alex shared a lot of his life and self doubts with me, he took some very brave steps to be done with the old version of himself and bring out the strong self belief that's always been hiding in there 👏

Every lesson has been an absolute pleasure to see you grow in confidence and ability Alex and to see the shock on your face when you got that result was worth every bit of work we have done, your reaction was so funny to see, you literally could not believe what you had done 😂

Thank you for choosing me as your instructor, to share your journey with you and to witness your success was an incredible moment for me, an extremely well earned win!

Keep that Team Young determination going and show em what you're made of Alex,
Enjoy the privilege of your full license and keep those standards high 🙌

A very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all Team Young Students and their families past and present!

It's been a tough year for us all, with test waiting times hitting an all time high right across the country and the extra pressure that has put on students to pass on the first attempt to avoiding having to wait ages for another go you have all dealt with that added pressure as best as you can and I am immensely proud of you all for giving it 110% every lesson and not letting the system grind you down! ✊

Special thanks to the students who have given me Christmas gifts, I truly appreciate you doing that for me, I never expect gifts from any of you as it's my job to take care of you all but when it happens I am truly grateful, so thank you so much 🙏

Extra special mention goes to my student Olivia...
Back in August during her lesson she was very unfortunate to be in the car parked at the roadside when a van driver wasn't paying attention and smashed directly into the back of us at speed completely writing my car off and injuring us both in the process!
Such an experience could be enough to put a learner driver off driving for life!
Not only has Olivia been brave enough to get back behind the wheel in my new car but she has managed to turn such a horrible experience into an amazing level of awareness and has in the short time since developed her skills into an incredible level! Olivia you are a Team Young Warrior and I am immensely proud to be your instructor.
I literally can not wait to see you get your pass certificate in the new year after all you have been through, you deserve it more then anybody 👏

To all my Team Young Legends out there on the road I miss you all, you better be behaving the way I taught you to 😂

We need to talk about the sheer lack of intelligence and common sense of entitled drivers on our roads and their abusive behaviour towards learner drivers!

This is not ok and has sadly become so common that it leaves us with no choice but to submit footage of all the poor drivers that create danger on our roads to the police, resulting in regular prosecutions being handed out!

Here is an example caught on camera today during a lesson, my learner is waiting to exit a junction turning left but can't see as another car has stopped directly at the driver side of us waiting to turn right and obstructing the view completely (which you can see later into the video)
The impatient driver behind became totally enraged with this expecting my learner to just pull out into a live lane of traffic without being able to see if anything was coming!!
Something I would NEVER let a learner do as we don't teach people to take risks and put themselves or me in danger!

The road was very busy and it meant we had to wait patiently until the learner could see properly and be sure it was safe to proceed.
You can actually see the driver of the Mini also struggling to see at points, yet screaming at us to go! 🙄

As you can see when the learner does proceed the driver of the Mini behind did NOT observe the junction properly and followed us out like a complete idiot directly into the path of another oncoming vehicle, this resulted in them then having to accelerate hard up behind us to get out the way of the car behind.
The driver then decided we weren't going fast enough and thought it acceptable to give us a load of offensive hand gestures!, eventually speeding past us while hurling abuse at us!

Where is the common sense?..
The "L" plate roof box should be enough of a clue for other drivers to figure out the driver is "LEARNING" to drive, we wouldn't have to display such message if the person driving was capeable of driving like a qualified driver, they would have a full license if that was the case.

Common sense should make you realise the LEARNER will likely move off slower than a qualified driver.

They will likely accelerate slower than a qualified driver.

They might brake suddenly and hard unlike a qualified driver.

Your abuse only makes the learner more over cautious, stressed and usually SLOWER!

It doesn't matter how much that angers you or how much abuse you give us, we will NOT allow the learner driver to break the law and speed just because you want us to!
We will NOT allow the learner to exit a junction they can not see is safe until they can be sure it is SAFE to do so!

If you behave this way around us the footage WILL be submitted to the police and I can assure you Humberside Police DO prosecute as they inform us on what action is being taken against the offending bad drivers we send in!
