🚘 THROWBACK THURSDAY – 40 YEARS OF FORD NOSTALGIA!

Now here’s something that makes you feel old! 😂

This Ford Cars brochure dates back to October 1986 — 40 years ago this month!

My third car was an E-reg Ford Orion 1.6i Ghia. I haven’t got any photos of the actual car anymore, but I’ve still got the original brochure from the time.

The Orion was quite a car in its day, and the 1.6i Ghia was a lovely bit of kit. 😎

Funny how some things never leave you. I’ve owned plenty of Fords over the years, and I’m still driving one today!

Who remembers the Ford Orion, and what was your pride and joy back in the 1980s?

🚗 A little update on availability

A big thank you to everyone who has contacted me recently about driving lessons and for recommending my services. Your support and continued interest are very much appreciated! 😊

My diary is now fully booked, and I’m currently unable to take on any further pupils.

I pride myself on offering regular, consistent lessons, so I prefer to keep my diary manageable rather than take on more pupils than I can accommodate each week.

Thank you again for all the enquiries, recommendations and support. It really does mean a lot!

It’s been a busy and emotional week, with three test passes! 🚗👏

One pass in particular was extra special, with my nephew Lynden passing and now starting to enjoy the freedom of getting out and about in his own Ford Fiesta. A very proud uncle moment!

I usually only have one pupil on a Saturday, but with him away for the weekend, it seemed the ideal opportunity to get a few jobs sorted on the Focus.

The temperamental TPMS sensor is being replaced, and with the car approaching its fourth birthday at the end of the month, it’s also in for its second MOT. Always important to keep the car in tip-top condition when it’s your office as well as your transport!

So, this morning I’m in Driffield enjoying a Costa while the Focus gets some attention. ☕️

Here’s to a successful week, some great results for my pupils, and a little bit of downtime before Monday! 😊

🎉🚗 A VERY SPECIAL PASS! 🚗🎉

A huge congratulations to my nephew Lynden, who passed his driving test today in Hull with just 2 driving faults! 👏👏

This one means a little more to me than the usual pass post. Having Lynden as my pupil has been something genuinely special, and seeing him achieve this today makes me incredibly proud.

There have been a few ups and downs along the way, but he stuck with it, kept learning and today he got the result he deserved.

Congratulations Lynden 🎉🚗👏

🎉 HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO COHEN! 🎉

What a way to do it! 🙌

This morning Cohen took his driving test in Hull and came away with a FIRST-TIME PASS — with ZERO driving faults! 🥳🚗💨

That’s right… a completely clean sheet! 0️⃣ faults! 🔥

From the very beginning, Cohen has worked hard, listened, learned and steadily built his confidence and driving skills. Today it all came together perfectly.

A first-time pass is brilliant in itself, but to do it without picking up a single driving fault is something else entirely.

Cohen, you should be incredibly proud of yourself. 👏

It’s been an absolute pleasure helping you get to this point, and I couldn’t be happier for you.

Now the really exciting bit begins — you’re on your own! 🚗💨

Today Olga achieved her driving test pass in Hull with just 4 driving faults — a fantastic result!

Having helped you from your very first lesson right through to today, I’ve got a pretty good idea of just how much work, determination and perseverance has gone into achieving this.

It’s been brilliant to watch you develop your driving and stick with it, even when things haven’t always gone to plan. But today you did it! 🚗👏

Now you can put the driving tests behind you and concentrate on your university studies!

Olga, I genuinely wish you many years of safe, happy and confident driving ahead. You’ve earned it. ❤️

The Focus. New branding.

The new magnetic signs are now on the car, although the familiar top hat L plate will probably make a return once I’ve had it updated!

Standing back and looking at the finished result, I had one of those moments where I thought, I wish I could show Dad. I think he’d have been proud.

My late father, Anthony, known to everyone as Tony, was also a driving instructor.

He started his career 40 years ago, in 1986, working for Scarrotts, before moving to Humber Bridge followed by a spell being independent like myself and ending up at Academy.

Sadly, he’s been gone far too long and never got to see me follow in his footsteps and enter the same profession, after my own previous careers.

It’s something I never imagined would happen, but here I am, doing something we now have in common.

I hope he’d be pleased with how far I’ve come.

Jacob, it’s been a real pleasure getting to know you and helping you achieve your goal of passing your driving test. You’ve put the work in and thoroughly deserve it.

You can now start looking for your first car — maybe a Fiesta! 😉 And, most importantly, you can finally stop cycling to and from work… and hopefully stop falling off! 😂
