🚗 The Importance of Regular Servicing 🔧

This engine is a perfect example of why regular servicing is so important. This vehicle had not been serviced for 6 years and unfortunately, the consequences were severe.

As you can see from the photos, the inside of the engine is covered in thick black oil sludge. This is not something you should expect to see inside a properly maintained engine.

In this case, the lack of servicing ultimately contributed to the bottom end of the engine failing, leaving the customer facing the cost and inconvenience of an engine replacement😬

A regular oil and filter change is a relatively small expense compared with replacing an engine.

B38/B48 Vanos Pulley Repair🚗

Last week we carried out a Vanos Pulley Repair on a BMW 1 Series.

The customer suspected that it was the timing chain when that wasn't the case. We are beginning to see more and more B38 and B48 engines being misdiagnosed as needing timing chains when in fact the cause of the drivetrain warning is much simpler and easier to repair.

Their brake pedal was heading to the floor, but our inspection revealed the root cause a snapped brake disc❗

It turns out, they had recently got new brake pads installed at another garage, but on their old discs.
