B38/B48 Vanos Pulley Repair🚗

Last week we carried out a Vanos Pulley Repair on a BMW 1 Series.

The customer suspected that it was the timing chain when that wasn't the case. We are beginning to see more and more B38 and B48 engines being misdiagnosed as needing timing chains when in fact the cause of the drivetrain warning is much simpler and easier to repair.

This week, we helped a customer dodge a potential disaster!

Their brake pedal was heading to the floor, but our inspection revealed the root cause a snapped brake disc❗

It turns out, they had recently got new brake pads installed at another garage, but on their old discs.

🚨 Inspection Find 🚨

During a recent vehicle inspection, we discovered these broken components hidden within the car. Unfortunately, this damage appears to have been caused during previous work carried out by another garage.

This is exactly why thorough inspections matter. Issues like this can go unnoticed until they lead to bigger (and more expensive) problems down the line.

Here at DRW, we:
