Due to the lovely weather we will be closing our doors at 1:00pm for the remainder of the week. It's far too hot to be working in a metal box without any type of air conditioning! Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We will still be taking calls, replying to emails, quoting and booking work in for you all.

Nice little puncture repair and rubber stem valve TPMS sensor replacement we have completed on a Ford Galaxy this morning. The customer was complaining that the tyre would drop a few pounds of pressure over the course of 2/3 days and that the TPMS was intermittently working. We did a full scan of the sensors and realised that one was on its last legs so we programmed and replaced said sensor and valve. We also found that the paint and lacquer on the inside of the bead was all bubbled up so we gave this a good clean up and bead sealed the tyre back onto the rim to stop any further leakage.

Half an hour of the customers time and they are now satisfied that their sensors are all working correctly and that they won't need to keep topping the pressure up every few days.

Hello all,

As some of you may be aware I have had to vacate my unit along The Moors next to Forge Garage who have also had to move. It's a long sad story behind it all and a shame we have had to leave but as time moves on so must the development of these area's I suppose.

Fear not however as I have relocated and am still based in Kidlington. I will be open for business again from Wednesday 12th of May 2026.

I am located towards the rear of the Headington Carriers yard. To find me you'd need to turn into their yard and then follow the road to the tail end. If you follow the road all the way down you will see me situated on the left at the end of the row of containers. I am operational now but the permanent waiting room and reception area isn't quite finished yet but will be complete by next week.

I wanted to also take this opportunity to thank all of my customers for their custom and loyalty and also show some appreciation for the business you've provided as it's kept me going and allowed me to continue to grow. This is truly appreciated so thank you all!

To any new customers that may consider using me for any tyre related queries, you will all be treated professionally and in a friendly manner no matter how busy or stressed I may be at the time. I strive to provide all my customers with the same 5 star level of treatment and care. I also appreciate you helping my little dream to become a reality and continue to grow into the future.

Apologies to anyone who has had to go
elsewhere or had to wait during my period of downtime. This was unfortunately beyond my control.

No obligation free tyre condition and pressure check

Hello all,

Firstly I hope you are all well and good!

It's Shaun here from SPM Tyre Centre, with the weather changing and becoming wet and cold it's vital to check the condition of your tyres as well as keeping on top of the pressures. 10 degree in weather can make the pressure fluctuate by 3-5psi.

Some of you may have noticed your TPMS alert going off on the dash due to the rapid decreases in temperature lately. This is more than likely due to the drop in temperature rather than anything sinister like a nail or screw in the tyre. If you have any worries or concerns regarding this please feel free to call in or phone me and I will happily check the pressures and reset the TPMS for free. If there is a puncture that can be repaired I can also accommodate this and get it fixed which will last the life of the tyre.

Also with the weather getting so bad again this time of year it is imperative that you check the condition and tread depth of your tyres as that can make the difference between keeping control of the vehicle or having an accident due to aqua plaining or worse.

It's often the inner or outer edge that will wear first especially if the tracking hasn't been checked for some time. When I check the condition of tyres I find it best to put the vehicle on a full lock (either left or right) and then you're able to see the whole contact surface area and determine if there is even wear and also see the tread depth across the whole area.

It's also advisable to have a matching pair of tyres on each axel (front and back) but ideally four the same as this will also make a difference when it comes to water displacement and heavy braking.

I can now source and supply space saver sized spare wheels for the new vehicles that still seem to be leaving dealerships without one in the boot.

If you'd like to have one in the place of the foam insert and have that peace of mind in case you ever do get a flat tyre and need to get moving again asap give me a call or email and I'll see what I can do for you.

I can also source them with jacks and wheel bars if required.
