I was having a bit of trouble with some New Hudson spindles. The original ones with the old 'cup and cone' arrangement were completely marmalised and for a completely different bike, like all the parts that come with basketcases. So, I tackled the problem by providing a modern twist. Using modern metric taper roller bearings fitted into adapter cups that I machined to fit the hubs, I could remake the spindles, spacers and nuts. You would not believe the difference in 'rolling resistance' this makes.
Just for info, the threads on the nuts and spindles are imperial rather than metric, just so the purists don't fall off their stools through rage.

While looking back through the old photos I noticed this. I brought this in for resale, rode it a few times and loved it. Unfortunately somebody brought it and I couldn't play with it anymore.

I am looking to move my Racing Bantam on to the next caretaker.
Ive had a lot of fun with this bike in the past few years, its has a nice period look to it. This used to be raced by a fellow called Tom Ford in the 60's and it was last raced in 1970, it was then put in storage until I brought it in 2012ish. I fitted some new tyres, a new carb and a Rex Caunt ignition system and used in in a few parades both in the UK and France. It used to live on the wall in the workshop, some of you may have seen it.
The engine ins a 125cc running a 3speed gearbox, it made 11hp on the dyno.
If anybody is interested contact me and come and have a look. I am open to sensible offers, it would be nice for it to goto a good home. I tried posting it on the Bantam Racing forum here on Facebook as I thought they would be the obvious people for it but they don't seem to be allowing it for some reason.
Please share if you know anybody who may want it.
