⚠️ PSA PureTech Wet Belt Issues – We Can Help ⚠️
If you own a Peugeot, Citroën or Vauxhall fitted with the PureTech petrol engine, it’s worth being aware of the well-known wet timing belt issue. 😬
This Vauxhall Crossland X has only done roughly 30,000 miles and came into us with an oil pressure light illuminated on cold start. 🥲
Over time, the wet timing belt can begin to deteriorate while running in engine oil. As it breaks down, belt debris can block the oil pickup, reduce oil pressure, and potentially lead to serious engine damage if left unchecked 😫Luckily the customer booked it in when they first noticed the light!
We carry out wet belt replacements using genuine OEM parts and Every replacement includes:
✅ Genuine OEM wet timing belt kit
✅ Engine oil and filter replacement using the correct specification oil
✅ Oil pickup strainer inspection and cleaning where required
✅ Full inspection for any signs of belt deterioration or contamination
