The new Orion XS firmware v1.15 update introduces a game-changing emergency reverse charge feature across the full Orion XS lineup.

If your starter battery is ever too flat to start the engine, the Orion
XS can now temporarily reverse its charge direction to charge your starter battery directly from your auxiliary battery.

• Reverses charge direction for 15 minutes to get your engine ready to crank again.
• Simply tap the new engine starter charge icon within the VictronConnect app to begin.
• Available on the 12/12-50A, 12/12-70A, and 1400 models.
• Requires VictronConnect app firmware v6.43.

Updates are available now via the VictronConnect app or remotely through the VRM Portal.

Diagnosed a faulty i70 so agreed with customer to replace both i70 displays with 2x new i70s which match in nicely with the autopilot's P70s controller head. We then moved the second good i70 down to the chart table for instant sailing data without having to go up on deck.

The customer was very pleased with this small but useful improvement to his boat.

We were pleased to be asked to carry out a complete lithium upgrade and charger/inverter installation on board a sailing yacht at Port Solent.

We replaced the existing 580Ah AGM bank with 1200Ah of Fogstar lithium batteries, more than quadrupling the usable capacity. All kept in check with Victron Energy charging and monitoring systems.

There were a few practical challenges, but nothing that couldn't be overcome, and the result was a very happy customer who can now spend more time away from marinas without running the generator.
