HiQ Ipswich car guru and on-call firefighter Sam Brown will take on the 2026 London Marathon to raise funds for the Fire Fighters Charity.
Running the marathon has been a lifelong ambition for Sam. Last year, before he joined the fire service, he missed out on a ballot place — so instead completed a virtual marathon, covering 33 miles.
Now, with a charity place secured for next April, he’s preparing to run the full 26.2 miles in London, for real.
Sam, who works full-time in HiQ Ipswich and serves on-call from Woodbridge, is also a husband and dad to a young daughter, so he's currently juggling training with family life, work and his on-call responsibilities.
Explaining why he chose to support the Fire Fighters Charity, Sam said: “Becoming part of the fire service has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The support from everyone has been incredible, and I really want to give something back to the wider firefighting community.”
