It’s been a while!
But the new season for reopening of the Morayvia home of ‘381’ has prompted one.
There has been a reshuffle at the museum to accommodate new exhibits. The Hunter is now in good company alongside a Vampire and similar era jets. A great place to be.
And, only today, another development to report. The mounting of a mains powered media player which, when pressed, will show a short film taken in 1972 when she had her dip in the Solent. The recovery process can be seen, along with other lovely images of that era.
If you visit the museum, press the button and spend 2 minutes 40 seconds watching it!

Ready for the public opening of Morayvia 2025!
The incredible work carried out by the volunteers has been truly appreciated. Ejector seat removed and serviced. New canopy (literally new old stock, never fitted before) has been painted and fitted. Super clear and a great improvement.
Some more tidying to do and the new media player to wire in.
Thank you Morayvia!

Morayvia did some good work on ‘732’ yesterday. Her seat was removed for servicing and tidying. They also found a surprise under it!

A nice, rather pricey eBay purchase for ‘732’.
The genuine items are fetching good money these days but it is a GA11 issued 1966, so I couldn’t pass it over.

The Hunter gets her first outing since arriving at Morayvia.
She will be on display at RAF Lossiemouth friends and families day.
Having previously been based at Lossie it is expected she will get some attention.
Thanks to Jim Simpson and Morayvia for getting her safely to and from the site.

‘381’ got some more attention today, but not directly on her!
Top man and better welder than he would ever agree with, Linton gave up some of his bank holiday Monday to repair the trailer.
During its acceptance checks by Morayvia it was noticed that the trailer has previously suffered damage to its frame. It was quite likely to be considered unroadworthy… after I had towed it a few miles…from Bournemouth to Inverness… ahem.
Anyways, that all history now and she has been repaired ready for her first 2024 public outing to the RAF Lossiemouth families day in July.
Thank you Linton. Good job!

Some more sterling work by the Morayvia team. As part of the process of continuous improvement they have refurbished the crew entry steps. This will allow the public to climb up and peep in.

‘381’ has been receiving further love and attention at Morayvia. She has also been moved to a slightly different location within the museum. This allows better public access all around and also makes it very easy to hook up and tow out when needed to attend outdoor events.
The new Harley light looks great too.
