Hey guys! Just another wee post before I shut off and get back to what I’m supposed to be doing… invoicing and paperwork! 😂

So, I’ve secretly been filming with Lauren and Kelly from Dubh & Geal Luxury Car Hire , and honestly, it was good crack! 😂

The “How to Check Your Tyres” video is coming, ladies and gentlemen! 👀🚗🛞

Hopefully, it’ll be ready over the next couple of days once it’s been edited. I’ve been working away behind the scenes, and it’s just going to be a short, simple video showing you how to quickly check your tyres so you can spot any obvious issues and hopefully avoid getting caught out.

I’ve got to say, I absolutely loved working with these two ladies.

I actually worked with Lauren before, back when I was working in the intensive care unit. When she turned up, I was like, “Oh my God! You’re the lady with the big bun!” 😂 I remembered her straight away!

She was like, “When did I meet you?” and I said, “I worked with you too!” She then said she thought she recognised my face from the hospital. 😂 Such a lovely lassie, and it was brilliant seeing her again.

And of course, Kelly Fraser, who many of you will know from MFR. These two ladies have now gone into business together with Dubh & Geal luxury car hire and they have been absolutely brilliant to work with.

Guys, what a week… and we’re only at Wednesday! 😂 Honestly, I have no words. I’ve literally just walked through the door!

So, another post tonight about somebody’s tyres and the amount of wear on them. And yes, something is coming very soon about how to check your tyres properly, because this is something I really want to get across to everyone.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to check your tyres regularly, especially if you’re on the road every single day.

Please look out for:
🚗 Cracks or perishing
🚗 Uneven wear on the inside or outside
🚗 Very little or no tread left
🚗 Bulges or damage
🚗 Exposed cords or wires

This particular tyre was taken off a vehicle that is used on the road daily. It really does highlight why checking your tyres regularly is so important.

Please don’t just look at the part of the tyre you can see easily wear can be happening on the inside too.

I’m only doing one job tomorrow as I’m trying to wind down, get caught up and get everything organised before I finish up for my holiday.

Davey is going to be keeping things going while I’m away and will be staying open for the majority of the time I’m off.

However, from Tuesday 6th October until Friday 9th October, we will be completely closed while Davey has his holiday too. I’ll be back and resuming work on Friday 9th October.

There are still loads of things coming over the next few days, though! 👀

I’m currently putting together another post that I’m really excited about. The girls I’ve been working with have been absolutely amazing, and I cannot wait to share it with you all! ❤️

If I wasn’t so bloody hungry, I would NOT have bought this. 😂

I’ve not stopped all bloody day and I am absolutely STARVING… but honestly, WHAT IN THE NAME OF LORD GOD IS GOING ON?! 🤣

£3.99… THREE POUND NINETY-NINE… for a blinking roll with a bit of egg mayonnaise in it?! 🥚🥖

And then £2.06 a litre for fuel… but apparently we’re meant to just casually chuck another £3.99 at an egg roll from Blackpark and pretend that’s perfectly normal. 😂

If I wasn’t starving, this would absolutely be getting put back on the shelf.

But alas… here I am. Hungry. Raging. Eating my £3.99 egg roll. 🤣

What is this world coming to?!

🚨 THIS is why you need to be VERY careful when buying part-worn tyres. 🚨

Look at this tyre here. 👀

You can clearly see this wear ring around the tyre, and that's a massive warning sign that this tyre may have previously been run under-inflated or even driven while flat.

And here's the scary bit… 👇

When a tyre is driven with too little air in it, the sidewall has to flex far more than it should. That creates heat and stress inside the tyre, and it can cause damage to the internal structure.

The problem is, you might not be able to see that damage just by looking at the outside.

You could have plenty of tread left and think, "That'll do me." But tread depth isn't the only thing that matters when it comes to a tyre's safety.

With a part-worn tyre, you also don't know its full history. You don't know if it has been run flat, badly under-inflated, overloaded, punctured or previously damaged.

So when you're buying used tyres, don't just look at the tread!

Look for unusual wear patterns, cracking, bulges, cuts, exposed cords and signs that the tyre may have previously been run seriously under-inflated.

And if something doesn't look right — STOP. Get it properly inspected before it goes anywhere near your vehicle.

At Miss.Fits, we'd rather tell you a tyre isn't suitable than put something questionable on your vehicle.

Your tyres are the only thing connecting your vehicle to the road. Don't take chances with them. 🚗💨
