After a trip to the main dealers the previous tuning was wiped. So was booked in with us to have it retuned - always see great results from the 20d’s certainly no match for the big brother N57 but with a well constructed tune they certainly have plenty pep in their step after.

CR150 DSG transporter in for engine & gearbox tuning.

Higher mileage van, this one was all about just making it drive better without leaning on it too hard. Nice bump in power and torque but main focus was on the gearbox, the DQ500’s are known for jumping to the highest gear possible at the lowest speeds. We allowed a little more rpm before shifting up to create a far improved driving experience round town and on local A roads.

Caddy CR140 hybrid turbo tuning.

Another CR140 in fitted with JW automotive hybrid turbo. Couple hours spend dialling everything in and went on to make some great power on a very basic set up.

This van only has turbo and downpipe fitted. Stock intercooler, airbox set up and 3 bar map sensor. Showing how effective this turbo is and the minimum modifications needed to make good power. Peaking 1.9bar of boost and with stock intercooler the intake temperatures weren’t any higher than we would see on stock turbo at stage 2 level of tuning.

Skoda Octivia VRS in for retune.

Previously tuned delivering subpar results and shocking set of datalogs to go with it. Boost pressure like a Mexican wave and suspect the knock sensor completely turned off. This was peaking at 13 degrees ignition advance with zero timing pull across all cylinders at 1.5bar of boost with throttle valve closing and dancing about. Given this was running 97ron fuel we knew all too well these engines should have been pulling timing out at that much advance.

We flashed back to stock and retuned from there, instantly pulling timing with much less advance now the knock sensor was actually operational. Our tuning was actually the same amount of boost with less timing but made way more power. This is purely down to the fact the engine is operating happily without throttle closure allowing all the power to flow in and out the engine for maximum efficiency. More isn’t always more.

Stock - 233bhp / 349nm
Tuner x - 276bhp / 401nm
HTS Tuned - 315bhp / 462nm
Proven gains of 82bhp & 113nm over stock and 39bhp & 61nm over previous tune.
