What was Mercedes thinking using a modest two tone underwhelming colour palette on the interior of this sleeper beast of a car. When the client who owned this AMG 65 approached Hideworks to fully go black, we were happy to oblige. Every single grey vinyl, plastics, carpets and leather of the interior and the boot space was either dyed or recoated to give this car’s interior the stealthy, slick menacing feel it so deservedly needed. Transforming this iconic Jensen Interceptor was one of our favourite projects to date. The full interior of this British classic came to us with extensive wear, including significant cracking and fading in the leather seats. Through meticulous restoration, we’ve rejuvenated every surface, preserving the integrity and elegance of this legendary vehicle. This particular Interceptor holds a rich history, with designers from Italy and an American-engineered V8 Chrysler engine, paving the way for the framework used on the first production car with all-wheel drive and anti-lock brakes, a rare engineering achievement for its time. Restoring a car with such heritage is always a privilege, especially when it’s a model that represents the best of British motoring.

We had a Vintage Bentley Sports Tourer brought in for a colour restore on the Rexine body work. Using a meticulous re-coating process, we revived the colour by bringing back its once rich burgundy coat while retaining that authentic vintage wear. The result is a harmonic blend of refreshed elegance and historic charm, sympathetic of its age.

So we had a Ferrari 360 in this week, and thank god it didn’t have the sticky switch issue! However we had a few problems, one being we had to remove the incorrect colour applied by a “leather technician”. After a triple clean we managed to remove all of the erroneous coatings. The results are there to see in the images.

When selling a 21,000 mile Porsche 911 it’s all in the detail! Little things like the leather on the steering wheel bubbling and having to surgically glue it back down with a syringe, is just one of the many considerations when advising our clients at Hideworks. Respraying the gear k**b and handbrake silver trim wasn’t on the list of requirements by the client for this project, but we felt it necessary to restore this 21,000 mile Porsche back to its original ideal state.
