Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (Full-Time)

We are looking for a friendly, organised, and reliable Administrator / Receptionist to join our busy recovery and garage team.

This is a customer-facing role where you’ll be the first point of contact for customers, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of our office. While experience in the motor trade or garage environment is beneficial, it is not essential—full training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Greeting customers in a professional and welcoming manner.
Answering telephone calls and responding to customer enquiries.
Managing the administration for our recovery and garage operations.
Booking jobs and updating customer records.
Liaising with drivers, technicians, and customers.
Processing paperwork and maintaining accurate records.
General office administration duties.

About You

Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Friendly, approachable, and professional.
Well organised with good attention to detail.
Confident using computers and common office software.
Able to work independently and as part of a team.
Willing to learn—no previous garage or recovery industry experience is required, as full training will be provided.

The time has come that our Tony who has been with us for over 26 years, is RETIRING! So we are seeking to employ one full time recovery driver to become part of our team. (Preferably class 1 but would consider class 2 drivers.) CPC is also required.

This is a customer facing role and one which is vital in promoting our company's professional reputation. This role requires the ability to work alone and part of a team in larger incidents, candidates will need to think on their feet and work safely at the roadside. Candidates will be required to be confident, calm and presentable in there dealings with customers. Day to day tasks will vary but your main roll we be to assist in the recovering and redelivering of both light and commercial vehicles, You must be able to carry out your vehicle daily checks in a timely manor and be able to work as part of a close family run team.
The right candidate will need to be both committed and flexible as the role does require the person to work both throughout the day and sometimes into evenings. We currently have contracts with all the leading vehicle recovery agents and Devon and Cornwall police so the candidate may require police vetting as a part of the recruitment process.
Previous experience of vehicle recovery while advantageous is not essential as full training will be provided as well as a more in-depth hands on training session with the equipment in question.

UPDATE for our workshop repair and MOT customers, we have made the decision to adjust our opening times from 08:30- 17:00 to give our workshop staff a better work/life balance. We will now only be closed at 13:00 - 13:30 instead of 13:00- 14:00 for lunch. The recovery team will still be available 24/7 as per usual. Most vehicles have a recirculation button as part of their AC controls, but many of us aren’t sure when to use it. The simple rule of thumb is to use it in the summer and turn it off in the winter.

The recirculation button works by taking the air inside your car and recirculating it within the cabin, rather than pulling in fresh air from outside. On extremely hot days, if you don't use the recirculation feature, your AC system has to cool the hot air from outside, which can be less efficient. By recirculating the cooler air inside the car, you can cool your vehicle more quickly and reduce the strain on your AC system.

Side note: If your car has been sitting in the sun, it’s better to roll the windows down and turn off recirculation for the first minute or so. This allows the superheated air inside to escape before you turn the recirculation on.

Additionally, anytime you’re stuck in traffic—whether it’s summer or winter—be sure to use the recirculation feature. If you’re pulling air from outside, you’re also pulling in pollutants and carbon monoxide from the traffic around you. Studies show that using the recirculation feature can reduce the amount of pollutants entering your vehicle by 20% when you’re stuck in traffic!

We have an excellent opportunity available for a motivated Vehicle Technician to join our team.

As a Hornepark garage employee, you will join our team of talented vehicle technicians and be responsible for the maintenance and repair work of motor vehicles for our customers. You will also ensure that you deliver an outstanding customer experience.

About you

You must be a qualified Vehicle Technician with a formal qualification in Automotive City & Guilds/NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent qualification).

Ideally, you will have the ability to work within given timescales and the ability to tackle all aspects of vehicle repairs and servicing. Diagnostic skills and experience in problem-solving are not essential but are desirable.
