Finding the right grazing for your horse can be a right old mission, can't it? 😫🐴

You find somewhere that looks lovely, but it's miles away. Another place is perfectly located, but doesn't quite have what you need. And then, just when you think you've found somewhere suitable... no vacancies. 🙈

It's particularly tricky heading into winter, when everyone is on the lookout for enough grazing to see them through to next year.

And there's no point finding the perfect field if getting there and looking after your horse becomes an absolute nightmare!

If you're currently weighing up your Winter and/or long term options, we have DIY grass-only livery available at our separate 10-acre grazing site here in Alconbury Weston.

We've got individual paddocks, mains water, secure access, parking and muck-heap removal, along with a perimeter grass riding track and separate riding area as well as fantastic local hacking on our doorstep. Assistance from a reputable freelancer can also be arranged if needed, so you can have the occasional lay in or cover whilst you're busy at work or away on holiday.

Your horse's welfare and environment is an important decision. For you, the owner, as much as your horse's preferences and management!

Which is exactly why we'd much rather you came and had a look around.

The caravan's been to the coast (more than once), the countryside, maybe even ventured a little further afield this year. But with the season closing, the summer adventures start coming to end for 2026. Just as you've mastered that awning set-up. 😉

Now it's back home. Taking up half the driveway. 😂 Much to your fussy neighbour's dismay. And the dog's who now can't see oncoming intruders properly. He's just REALLY concerned about home safety. Not other dogs. Or squirrels. Honestly! 🐿

And while you're very fond of it, there's something quite nice about being able to park outside your own house without performing a three-point (!) turn around the caravan and the wheelie bins. 😅

If yours is ready for a bit of a winter rest, we've got a couple of hardstanding storage spaces available at Buckworth Lodge in Alconbury Weston.

CCTV, secure gated access and 24/7 access for customers. So if November decides to surprise us with a lovely weekend, you can still nip off somewhere!

Have you ever put something into storage and then completely forgotten where you put it? 😅

You know it’s in there somewhere.

Probably behind the Christmas decorations...

Next to that box you haven’t opened since the house move. Possibly?

That’s why, if you’re using a storage container for more than just a few weeks, it’s worth leaving yourself a bit of room to actually get to things.

A simple walkway down the middle, labels facing outwards and the things you use most often near the front can save a lot of frustration later.
