Another major engine repair completed on this Ford Transit! 🔧

This Ford Transit had broken down after the wet timing belt failed and lost a tooth, causing the engine to jump out of time.

After stripping the engine down, I replaced the failed wet timing belt, thoroughly cleaned out all the debris left behind from the deteriorated belt, and replaced the damaged rocker arms caused by the timing failure.

The engine was then correctly re-timed, followed by a fresh engine oil and filter change to remove any remaining contamination from the old belt. Once everything was reassembled, the engine fired straight up and was running smoothly again. ✅

A failed wet belt can cause extensive engine damage if left too long, which is why replacing it at the recommended service interval is so important.

Another customer back on the road with their van running reliably once again!

Another tailgate repair completed on this Mitsubishi! 🔧

This vehicle had suffered repeated tailgate handle failures due to worn and damaged support components. On inspection, I found one tailgate support cable had snapped completely, the other had stretched, and the latch cables had also become damaged.

To restore the tailgate properly, I replaced both support cables, fitted a new tailgate handle, and replaced the damaged latch cables.

To help prevent the same problem happening again, I also supplied and fitted a tailgate damper kit. This reduces the force of the tailgate opening and closing, prevents it from slamming, and provides additional support to reduce stress on the handle and cables.

The tailgate is now operating smoothly and reliably, giving the customer a long-lasting repair and added protection against future failures. ✅

Another service and vehicle health check completed on this VW Beetle! 🔧

This Volkswagen Beetle came in for an oil service and comprehensive vehicle inspection to keep it running at its best.

During the inspection, I found the front brake discs had started to corrode, causing uneven brake pad wear and brake judder under braking. I also recommended replacing both front tyres due to wear.

As the vehicle is now 10 years old, I also advised the customer that the timing belt is due for replacement in line with the manufacturer's service schedule. The customer has already booked back in to have the timing belt replaced, helping to prevent a potentially costly engine failure in the future. ✅

Another successful diagnosis and repair completed on this Kia Stonic! 🔧

The customer brought the vehicle in with the ABS, traction control and tyre pressure warning lights illuminated on the dashboard.

Following a full diagnostic assessment, I traced the fault to the rear right wheel speed sensor. On this model, the sensor is integrated into the wheel bearing and hub assembly, meaning the complete unit had to be replaced.

A new rear wheel bearing and hub assembly was fitted, the fault codes were cleared, and the vehicle was road tested to confirm the repair. All warning lights remained off and the systems were operating exactly as they should. ✅

Another customer safely back on the road!

The customer was experiencing starting issues, so I carried out a battery health test which confirmed the AGM battery had failed and required replacement.

A new AGM battery was fitted, followed by battery registration using professional diagnostic equipment. Registering the new battery is essential on modern vehicles, allowing the charging system and battery management module to recognise the new battery and optimise its charging strategy for maximum performance and lifespan.

Once the battery was registered, all systems were checked to ensure everything was operating correctly, leaving the vehicle ready to get back on the road. ✅

Not every repair goes to plan, but that's where experience makes all the difference! 🔧

This vehicle needed a replacement ABS sensor, but what should have been a straightforward job quickly became much more involved. The securing bolt had seized solid and snapped during removal. An extraction tool was then used, but unfortunately it also broke inside the bolt, leaving hardened steel stuck in the hub.

Using a diamond-tipped drill bit, I carefully drilled through the broken extractor before removing the remainder of the seized bolt. The damaged threads were then professionally repaired using a Helicoil insert, allowing a new ABS sensor and securing bolt to be fitted correctly.

After clearing the fault codes, the vehicle was road tested and the ABS system was operating exactly as it should, with no warning lights or faults remaining. ✅

Another tricky repair completed and another customer safely back on the road!

Another brake repair completed on this 2021 Peugeot 3008! 🔧

The customer reported reduced braking performance, and on inspection the rear brake discs were found to be heavily corroded and warped, with the rear brake pads worn unevenly.

As this vehicle is fitted with an electronic parking brake, the correct diagnostic equipment was used to place the rear calipers into service mode before any work was carried out. This allowed the rear brake discs and pads to be replaced safely and correctly without triggering any faults or causing damage to the braking system.

Once the new components were fitted, the electronic parking brake was recalibrated, all systems were checked, and the vehicle was ready to get back on the road ✅

Another happy customer back on the road with safe, smooth braking!

Another quick turnaround on this Nissan Qashqai! 🔧

The vehicle had cut out and would no longer start. After carrying out a full diagnostic assessment, I traced the fault to a failed alternator, which had stopped charging the battery and caused the vehicle to break down.

The alternator and auxiliary drive belt were replaced, followed by all required calibrations and system resets. The fault codes were then cleared and the charging system was fully tested to confirm everything was operating correctly. ✅

The vehicle came in for an oil service and full vehicle check. During the inspection, several issues were identified including severely pitted and scored front brake discs, which were below the manufacturer’s minimum thickness and had caused uneven wear on the brake pads.

Further checks revealed the rear and centre exhaust system was heavily corroded with multiple large holes, and all suspension coil springs showed significant corrosion.

All faults were reported to the customer, who authorised the necessary repairs. The work has now been completed, including adjusting the handbrake, and the vehicle is back on the road running safely and fault-free. ✅

Another common fault sorted on this MINI R56! 🔧

The customer reported running issues, which were traced to a failed crankcase breather diaphragm built into the cam cover. On inspection, the cam cover was also found to be cracked, allowing unwanted air leaks and affecting engine performance.

A brand-new cam cover assembly was fitted, restoring the crankcase ventilation system and eliminating the vacuum leak. The MINI is now running smoothly again and ready to get back on the road. ✅
