This BMW G30 540i came into the workshop with a very annoying issue ⚠️
Under acceleration it felt like a light misfire due to slight RPM fluctuation 🚗💨

With no faults stored in the system, the diagnosis took some digging 🕵️‍♂️🔧
Eventually we found the problem: the car had non-genuine VANOS actuators, and both had failed ❌

We fitted two genuine BMW VANOS actuators and the fault is now completely resolved ✅
Smooth power delivery restored 💪🔥

This BMW E93 335i came into the workshop with an intermittent EML and reduced power.
Initial diagnostics showed an exhaust VANOS fault, so both VANOS solenoids were replaced as agreed with the customer.

However, the fault returned — so we removed the camshaft cover to carry out a deeper inspection.
The exhaust camshaft bearing ledge was visibly worn due to excessive wear from the compression rectang rings, fully confirming the underlying issue.

To resolve the fault correctly, we fitted:
🔧 New VANOS hub (exhaust)
🔧 New exhaust-side camshaft bearing ledge
🔧 Updated compression rectang rings

Car now runs smoothly with full power restored.
