Just a reminder that next week is the last week before my time off

Hello everyone, just a quick heads-up: I will be having a bit of time off at the beginning of April. My last day before my break will be April 2nd, and I won't be back until Monday, April 13th. Unfortunately, during this time, I won't be able to reply to any calls or messages until I'm back. Also, during this time, my parking area will be locked off, so I won't be able to have any cars left with me. Any cars left in the main yard cannot be left there, and the landlord has the right of removal. Obviously, I am in before that time, so if you need me before then, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Information from Hampshire Highways - Silver Street closure next week:

"As part of Hampshire County Council’s annual Planned Maintenance programme, drainage cleansing and pond desilting will be carried out in Silver Street, from Barrows Lane to Sway Road.

The works are scheduled for Monday 23rd March 2026 and are expected to take 5 days to complete, with a road closure to through traffic between 07:30hrs and 18:00hrs.

For residents: "For your safety and that of the workforce, we cannot guarantee vehicle access to properties during the closure. If you need to make an essential journey, please speak to a member of the on-site team in advance. Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Just a quick heads-up to everyone: Silver Street is very badly flooded. Currently, it is impassable from Pennington end and from Hordle end. I was just able to get to the workshop. Please don't risk your cars driving through any water. Modern cars don't have very good water wading depth, especially SUVs. Just because you are high up doesn't mean the electronics aren't low down.

Recent job on a vehicle for the engine management light being lit. A fault came up for the exhaust O2 sensor after being plugged in. A smoke test was carried out which showed the fault was an air leak and not the sensor, saving the customer money and not wasting time putting a replacement sensor on when this wasn't the fault.
