Fathers Day is looming which means so is ‘Landies on the Lawn 2026’ at hatfield_park.

We enjoyed ourselves there so much last time that we’re returning again this year & being the 10th year since Green Oval Repairs Ltd started, we will be holding a small stand to celebrate, hopefully with a small selection of our own and some customer vehicles.

Wiring, the simplest things can cause a big headache.

First of all was a Discovery 4 for a non start issue, swiftly narrowed down to the common bad earth cable. Once replaced fired up first time.

Second was a Discovery 2 for a suspected faulty fuel gauge, after checking the basics we found the sender wiring at the pump to have become detached, re soldered and its back to reading correctly.

Lastly was a Range Rover Sport for a suspension issue. After a previous garage had tried and not succeeded the customer gave us a call and with a little help from our good friends at Dartford Transmissions & Autocare ltd - JLR Specialist, we got to bottom of it and traced another bad earth stopping the compressor from kicking in, a consequence of the body being removed elsewhere.

We may not be the best with wiring issues but we don’t like giving up.

Also a new ABS pump to get rid of the frustrating lights on the dash

Finished off with a service and full health check to make sure there’s no nasty surprises lurking around the corner

Back to basics on this lovely little lightweight…

Couldn’t find the OBD port so had to do some manual fault finding 😅

The owner of this one was left stranded with a fuelling issue which was diagnosed elsewhere as being the fuel pump. Being one of eight made of this configuration and being ex military himself, the customer was distraught.

After replacing the lift pump himself, the customer still couldn’t get it running so gave us a call to take a look.

This one uses a twin tank and the tap to switch tank feed was completely full of sediment as was the fuel pipe from the sender to the tap, not allowing any fuel past to get the pump.

All cleaned up and now the new pump is drawing fuel up as it should. Ready for the customers next outing.

We had a Range Rover Sport in this week for a routine timing belt replacement only to find out it had the older, weaker style of oil pump still fitted.

After a short chat with our customer advising of the potential failure points they agreed to go ahead and replace the oil pump as part of the job.

Being a Britpart stockist we keep a lot of parts on the shelf and as luck should have it we had a genuine pump, seals & crank bolt in stock to get the customer back on the road as quickly as possible.

Lovely little 90 in for wiper issues.

The wheel boxes had seized and burnt out the motor. Quite a common issue on the Pumas which requires removal of the entire dash. Whilst we were in there, new wheel boxes, motor & cable replaced and also upgraded to the optimill washer jet kit, front and rear.

All done and dusted in a few hours for the customer ready for the MOT the following day

Jumping into our 10th year the same way we ended 2025, still loving what we do and keeping your Land Rovers rolling.

A couple more lof_clutches installed within the last couple of weeks.

A Puma for a POWERspec bundle, and keeping the old ones going too with ‘Project Freelander’ for a SMF conversion kit for one of curlings_landrovers 💪

As this week draws to an end, so does our working year.

We will be closed at the end of the day Friday 19th and not back to work until the 5th January.

Defender for a new derrière today….

This lovely little 90 had a lot of corrosion, filler and even paper stuffed into its rear crossmember, all covered up with chequer plate.

Old section removed and replaced, under sealed and all ancillaries bolted back on and it’s back on the road, not before carrying out a full service with fresh fluids through out and a new alternator to deal with the charging issue.

Another one winter ready
