Huge proud dad moment for me yesterday - my beautiful daughter passed her driving theory test! 🚗👏

No pressure when your dad’s a driving instructor 😂😅 but she kept calm, had studied hard, and she absolutely smashed it 🙌

Now onto the next step - getting ready for the practical test! 🛞💪

From 12 May, only learner drivers can book their own tests, not instructors.

Looking forward to these changes coming into effect next week 👏 from Tuesday, only learner drivers can book or manage their practical driving test.

Overall, this feels like a step in the right direction. Anything that helps stop bots and third-party resellers has to be welcomed - learners shouldn’t be paying over the odds just to access a test.

But, there is still a long way to go. The driving test backlog is still a huge issue, and I see it cause students unnecessary stress regularly.

I hope the changes next week go a small way to helping everyone fairly book their test when they’re ready 👍

If you’re driving today, watch out for sunshine glare, and be mindful that on warm sunny days, there’s likely to be more motorbikes on the roads so be mindful of your surroundings, and as always, drive carefully 😊☀️🚗
