Another challenging job successfully resolved by Hinckley Auto Keys. What a week it's been for Range rovers!

A customer had recently purchased this 2021 Range Rover Evoque from a large sales outlet, only to discover that the spare key supplied with the vehicle didn’t work. Unfortunately, after another locksmith attempted to program a new key, the situation became worse — leaving none of the keys working and causing the Body Control Module and Radio Frequency Antenna module to become locked out.

We attended the vehicle and carried out full diagnostics to identify the issue. Within the hour we were able to:

✔️ Recode and realign the BCM and RFA modules using specialised software above main dealer level
✔️ Restore functionality to the original key
✔️ Program an additional working key to the vehicle
✔️ Fully test and confirm everything was operating correctly

What started as a frustrating situation for the customer was quickly resolved, leaving them with two fully working keys and a properly functioning system.

🔐 Range Rover Evoque 2022 – Security Restoration After Key Theft 🔐

A recent urgent job completed by Hinckley Auto Keys after a customer’s home was unfortunately broken into and their car key stolen.

We attended promptly and carried out a full security reset on the vehicle, which involved:

✔️ Locking out the stolen key so it can no longer start or access the vehicle
✔️ Supplying and programming two brand new keys
✔️ Replacing the RFA (Remote Frequency Antenna) module
✔️ Coding and configuring the new module using specialist dealer-level equipment
✔️ Reconfiguring the door lock so the emergency blade from the stolen key can no longer gain access to the vehicle

The vehicle is now fully secured with two new keys, and the stolen key is completely disabled.
Situations like this show how important it is to re-secure a vehicle immediately after a key is stolen.

🔑 BMW 1 Series 2014 – Key Upgrade Completed

This 2014 BMW 1 Series came in with the older style key, and the customer wanted to upgrade to the newer BMW style key for a more modern look and sturdier feel.

This upgrade isn’t always a straightforward plug-in job. On this model we needed to remove the BDC (Body Domain Controller) module and carefully read the encrypted immobiliser data directly from the circuit board. Once the data was safely extracted, we were able to prepare and program the new upgraded style BMW key to the vehicle.

✔️ BDC module removed
✔️ Circuit board data read safely
✔️ New style BMW key prepared and programmed
✔️ Fully tested and working perfectly

The customer now has a modern upgraded key that works seamlessly with the vehicle.

Audi Q5 S Line 2016 – Spare Key Supplied & Programmed 🔑

Another interesting job completed by Hinckley Auto Keys.

This Audi Q5 S Line (2016) required a new spare key, but this wasn’t a simple plug-in programming job. On this model the immobiliser data is securely stored within the Body Control Module (BCM), meaning the module had to be carefully removed and the encrypted data extracted directly from the circuit board.
Our process involved:

✔️ Removing the BCM from the vehicle
✔️ Safely accessing the circuit board
✔️ Reading the encrypted immobiliser data
✔️ Preparing and programming a genuine spare key
✔️ Reinstalling and testing to ensure everything works perfectly

The customer now has a fully programmed spare key and peace of mind knowing they won’t be stuck if their main key is ever lost.
