🚛HGV AND TRAILER MECHANIC🚛

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive (based on experience)

We are looking for an experienced and motivated HGV & Trailer Mechanic to join our growing workshop team. If you take pride in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities🔑

-Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs and trailers.
-Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and braking faults.
-Prepare vehicles and trailers for MOT inspections and carry out necessary repairs.
-Complete inspections in line with DVSA standards.
-Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults efficiently.
-Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.
-Maintain accurate service and repair records.
-Work independently and as part of a team to minimise vehicle downtime.

Essential Requirements🗒️

-Previous experience as an HGV and/or Trailer Mechanic.
-Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent preferred).
-Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
-Good knowledge of HGV and trailer systems.
-Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
-Full UK driving licence (Class 1 licence is a bonus, but not essential).

Desirable Skills🛠️

-Experience with diagnostics and electronic systems.
-Welding and fabrication experience.
-HGV inspection accreditation.

🛠️ Role Overview
Your main responsibility will be the collection and delivery of customer MOT and hire trailers.
You’ll operate your own dedicated vehicle, and additional tasks that may include:
• Low loader work
• Delivering and collecting vehicles
📅 Working Hours
• 50 Hr week - Monday to Friday: typically bettween 6am & 6pm
• Occasional overtime, which may include weekends & nights out.
💷 Salary & Benefits
• £39,000 – £41,600 per year + overtime, depending on experience.
• 28 days paid annual leave, including bank holidays
