Im sorry to have to say Alpha Classics has now closed its doors for the last time. There are various reasons for this which I will go into later. We just cannot carry on in the present financial climate and to be honest I see no hope for the future under our present government. Bikes have been moved into storage and we will be contacting customers in the near future concerning collection. I would like to say thank you to our customers past and present. The phone is still ringing with people wanting to book work in but its just not enough to stay open any longer.

Lesley came down from London today to have a look at her bike weve been working on. Ive not been too well again over the last few weeks which is why weve not posted much recently. Been struggling to keep up to be honest. As Lesley is a paramedic she bought her kit down to give me a health check. She also came down with a load of beer for us which will not help my blood pressure much. Thanks Lesley.

Kev came in this morning with his newly rebuilt Z1. Just a tweek or 2 on the carbs and timing. Bit difficult to set up a engine with 7 miles on the clock. Lovely bike though.

Yamaha LC 500 in for oil leaks. Recently rebuilt engine which had the old exhaust seals and gaskets left in place. No wonder it spat unburnt oil all over the back of the engine.

Yet another GS in this morning. This one was delivered by courier from London. Requiires a fair bit of work to get it on song. We have two problems at the moment. Me being ill doesn't help but the most annoying is the lack of parts. All ordered on time but just dont turn up when they should do. We have a GS 1000 on the bench with no front or rear end in. Tyre and forkseals were due this morning. Still waiting. May as well wait for Xmas. Bike should of been finished today and gone tomorrow or Saturday.

Reg bought his 350 LC in today for a fair bit of work. Its been standing doing nothing for 18 months and he wants it all sorted, running and safe to ride. As Im still poorly this is a easy job, doesnt put too much stress on me. Andy takes the carbs out, I can fix them while he sorts the rest out. Just hope I can get back to normal workload soon.

Chris booked his GS 1000G in for running problems. There was a bit more to it than that. After doing all the normal checks, compression, sparks etc it all came down to the carbs. Soon had it up and running as it should. Then we started on all the other faults. Back tyre, shot brakes and fork seals. Brakes were in a hell of a mess, imports are often like this. Dont think Americans ever change their brake fluid.

Was a busy one last week. Besides our normal diet of 2 stroke triples we had a Yamaha MT-01 in for mot. Hadn't been moved in 6 years. Steering bearings were shot to bits. Damp had got in there and rusted them pretty well solid. Will have to take things easier this week after yet another trip to Musgrove hospital by ambulance on Friday evening. Have been told due to my heart condition I have to slow down a bit, like thats going to happen. Everyone wants their bikes done asap.

This one looks like it might be interesting. If the weathers ok we will pop in for a look on the way back from a hearty breakfast at Lyme Regis.

Everyone knows I'm not a fan of Harleys but Andy had to try this Sportster just to see what he thought of it. Underpowered and crap gearbox were his first comments. How can Enfield produce a gearbox which is like a hot knife through butter but Harley can't. To be fair, each to their own I suppose.

These two beautys are still up for sale. The weather will be improving soon. All ready for spring.
