📣 From 9 May DVSA driving examiners can use public car parks for the reverse park into a bay manoeuvre if it is assessed on your driving test 🚗

This will allow the reverse manoeuvre to be assessed on all car driving tests, not just those with their own car park 🅿️

New Highway Code guidance will help keep people cycling, walking and riding horses even safer 📖

⚠️Part of the guidance includes, people cycling may ride in the centre of their lane or two abreast for their own safety, whilst allowing others to overtake when safe.

New Highway Code guidance will help people cycling, walking and riding horses even safer.

🚗Part of the guidance includes encouraging people using cars to open their doors with the hand furthest from the door, to help them look over their shoulder behind them for people cycling or walking.

Update⚠️

New Highway Code guidance will help keep people cycling, walking and riding horses even safer.

Part of the guidance includes passing people, riding horses or a horse drawn vehicle at speeds under 10mph and leaving at least 2 metres.

🚶‍♀️Allow at least 2 metres and keep to a low speed when passing someone walking in the road.

Rules for all types of road users will be updated in The Highway Code to improve the safety of people walking, cycling and riding horses.

All car drivers who have passed their driving test since 1 January 1997 can tow a trailer up to 3,500kg in weight from today (Thursday 16 December) without the need for a test.

DVLA will update driving licence records to reflect the changes. You don’t need to contact DVLA for this - it will be done automatically

The car and trailer category will be added to your photocard driving licence when you apply for a new licence.

DVSA stopped doing car and trailer tests in September, allowing us to increase HGV driving tests to help tackle the lorry driver shortage.

High Wycombe will have a driving test centre when the lease on the current building runs out next month, it has just been confirmed.
