Full job description
We are currently looking for an MOT Tester to join our busy expanding MOT, service, and repair garage in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire
Key Skills:
* A current valid MOT License
* Full UK driving license
* Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of vehicle systems
* A willingness to assist with servicing, repairs and vehicle maintenance when not conducting MOT’s
* Able to work well on your own and as part of a team
* Great customer service skills
* High attention to detail
Main Responsibilities:
* Performing Ministry of Transport (MOT) tests on vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards
* Inspecting key components such as brakes, lights, tyres, steering, suspension, and emissions systems
* Ensuring all tests comply with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) guidelines and regulations
* Staying updated with any changes in MOT testing procedures and requirements
* Documenting all test results accurately in the MOT testing system
* Issuing MOT certificates for vehicles that pass the test and recording failures with detailed explanations
* Explaining test results to customers, including any failures and necessary repairs
* Providing advice on vehicle maintenance and any corrective actions required
* Conducting thorough pre-test inspections to identify any potential issues before the official MOT test
* Ensuring vehicles are in a suitable condition for testing
* Properly using and maintaining MOT testing equipment and tools
* Calibrating equipment regularly to ensure accurate test results
* Maintaining high standards of testing to ensure consistency and reliability
* Participating in quality control and audit processes as required by the DVSA
* Following health and safety protocols to create a safe working environment
* Using personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary and handling vehicles safely.

8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday (with one hour lunch break)
8am – 12pm Saturday’s
