The first beds we ever made. 20 years on we are still making these Type 2 beds. With 1000’s sold world wide we feel very lucky to have established such a great reputation for quality and customer service. I wonder what is ahead of us in the next 20 years.

When buying from rusty lees your buying from a company who has been active in the vw and camper scene for well over 25 years. We’ve been to just about every show in the uk,Europe and the USA over the years and have built a network of amazing customers and friends.

Introducing our all new T7/ford transit custom sliding double swivel.

After a long time in planing and trials we wanted to bring a double swivel that does something none of the others do. We successfully had this swivel and seat base m1 tested the week before last. This we believe is the most thought out swivel out there and looks factory to boot.

With our swivel unlike all others on the market, there is no cutting the cab matt, no seat height raise at all, no chopping the original seat base down! This simply bolts into the factory holes and our new seat base design uses all the original cushion. You just unbolt the backrest and bolt it to our engineered seat base and attached the base pads. Plenty of under seat storage. We even think the base looks better than the one supplied from factory.

Next week we will be heading to Transporter HQ to do a full step by step install guide.

For now here’s a few pics for you to see just how good this is and we will update with more information next week.

Big thanks to all involved in helping bring this to market. We go into production next week and already have a lot of pre orders from our loyal trade network.

This week we’ve been testing again. The wait is over. Rusty Lees team have successfully tested our T7/new ford transit custom double swivel. No more cutting your rubber matt, no more cutting your legs off your seat base. Our system will bolt directly into factory holes and not raise your seat height even 1mm. We are so excited to show you this later this coming week.

Any trade who wants to join the Rusty Lee network and would like to offer this swivel out please do make contact. This is a game changer.

This morning at approximately 2.15am we had an attempted break in. They managed to get into our storage containers but don’t seem to have taken anything. Perhaps they were that desperate for one of our beds they wanted to beat the que? 🤣🤣

In all seriousness Just a post to warn fellow business owners if you’ve been thinking about cameras and an alarm, do it!!!! Luckily we are well covered so they didn’t attempt the workshop as that would have triggered the alarms.

We all work hard for what we have and some scumbags just think they can take it!

Grant came to us with his T6.1 for a 3/4 recliner with isofix. He opted to have it mounted centrally in the van to allow low level storage units down each side.

Check out our chassis plate. Unlike most other brands we have a tested chassis plate to mount our bed securely in your vehicle. It’s just as important what’s under the van as well as what’s inside.
