Congratulations to the fundraising team at the Fulking Village Hall for this wonderful achievement! 🙌

🍾🍾 As 2025 draws to a close, we are delighted to confirm that we have now hit our fundraising target of £85,000 needed to save Fulking Village Hall! 🍾🍾

It's incredible to think that in only 9 months, our community & friends have come together and raised so much money and we would like to send out a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has helped us reach our target.

Whether you attended one of our events, bought raffle tickets, made a donation or your company has become a sponsor, we would like to give a heartfelt thanks to the whole community and beyond who have made this dream a reality!

The sale of Fulking Village Hall is now going through and we will soon be the proud owners of our hall - what an achievement!!

In particular, we would like to thank our wonderful pub, The Shepherd & Dog, Fulking, who raised over £5,000 thanks to £1 donations from customers, Preston Nomads whose hosted two events raising over £10,000, and our generous sponsors Coles Automotive, Dualit, Rushfields, Foot of the Downs, Hawthorn Veterinary Surgeries, ARK Plc, iMMERSIVE Cloud Solutions, Graves Son & Pilcher, The Prophets and Hartley Fowler. We couldn't have done it without your generosity!

So here's to an exciting New Year, working together to provide more events and activities to serve our wonderful community!

We're firing up the Coles barbecue in anticipation - and although we're closed for the two bank holidays (Good Friday, 18th and Easter Monday, 21st) we'll be open for your emergencies on Saturday morning between 9am-1pm.

At Coles we are devastated to have lost Tony Laker, a kind, dedicated, knowledgeable, patient and loyal friend to us all. Tony took everything in his stride. No fuss, no problems, just solid determination; and his fight with a brutal cancer diagnosis was approached in the same way.
He taught many of our ‘youngsters’, very generously imparting his seemingly limitless knowledge. His engineering skills were second to none and his experienced approach to computer diagnostics made it all look simple (which we promise, it very often isn’t).
His patient kindness hid a huge strength of character, and humour too - the Tony chuckle when he put on his infamous Christmas playlist, on repeat through the whole of December - we really will miss him, even for his love of cheesy music.

On Monday 14th April Coles will be closed from Midday as we attend his funeral and say our final farewell.
If you knew Tony, his family pass on their invitation to celebrate his life at Worthing Crematorium, 1pm on Monday 14th, and afterwards at The World’s End Pub in Patching.
Rather than flowers, there’s a collection in his memory for St Barnabas, who cared for him with all the kindness he deserved during his last days. 💙

Rest in peace Tony, we will miss you.
