October’s Car of the Month, and what a way to make an entrance.

This stunning 1961 Chevrolet Corvette C1 Roadster is now available at Pilgrim V8, and opportunities to own examples of this quality do not come around often.

Finished in beautiful Fawn Beige Metallic with a matching Fawn interior, it combines one of the most recognisable shapes in American motoring with Chevrolet’s 283ci V8, a manual gearbox and a removable hardtop.

It is elegant, beautifully preserved and full of the character that makes an early Corvette so special. We also know this particular car well, having previously carried out work on it here at Pilgrim, so it is especially nice to see it return.

A proper piece of 1960s American motoring history and a very worthy Car of the Month.

Some cars simply demand your attention.

This 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Chelsea Truck Company Edition is certainly something a little different for Pilgrim V8, but every time someone walks into the showroom, it gets a reaction.

With its imposing Chelsea Truck Company styling, upgraded wheels and seriously eye-catching orange leather interior, it has road presence in abundance.

Underneath it all sits a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine, automatic gearbox and Jeep’s four-wheel-drive system, with just 10,390 miles covered from new.

It’s different, it’s distinctive and, frankly, it looks brilliant.

First things first… how many Scotts long is a 1964 Lincoln Continental?

At least three, apparently.

Once the important measurements are out of the way, Scott takes us through some of the work being carried out on this Continental, including diagnosing a knock from the front suspension and tracking down a battery drain.

It’s a good example of the sort of workshop work we deal with every day at Pilgrim V8, from servicing and fault finding to electrical, engine and transmission issues, alongside larger modifications and restoration projects.

Meet Rich, one of the familiar faces you’ll often see buzzing around Pilgrim V8.

Always full of energy and usually moving at pace, Rich is involved across plenty of different areas of the business and is never too far away from the action. The media team can also confirm he brings much the same enthusiasm when he gets behind the wheel.

In this video, we get to know him a little better, including his K20-powered Lotus Elise, his love for the Bullitt Mustang, his dream cars and the story of how he once ended up being escorted out of Germany by helicopter with a group of Lotus owners.

Original or restomod. Which side are you on?

That’s the debate causing a bit of contention here at Pilgrim V8, so Josh has taken two early Mustang Coupes to compare the different approaches.

On one side, a 1964½ Coupe with non-original paint, tinted windows, aftermarket wheels and a much louder exhaust.

On the other, a beautifully period-correct 1966 Coupe with its original-style colour and chrome detailing.

Both have plenty of character, both are available here at Pilgrim V8, but which one would you choose?

This might be one of the most original C3 Corvettes we’ve had through the doors.

This 1982 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Collector’s Edition retains its original Silver Beige Metallic paintwork, original trim and a huge amount of the character it left the factory with more than 40 years ago.

Under the bonnet sits the numbers-matching 5.7-litre V8 with Cross-Fire Injection, while details such as the bronze-tinted T-tops, opening rear glass hatch and model-specific interior make the Collector’s Edition genuinely distinctive.

With 77,000 documented miles and an extensive history file, including original warranty paperwork, it is a brilliant opportunity to own one of the most interesting final-year C3 Corvettes.
