πŸ”§ Audi Q8 – Starter Generator Replacement & ODIS Calibration

A great example of the specialist work we carry out here at VCDS Diagnostic.

The owner of this Audi Q8 had sourced their own replacement starter generator, a component that can be a common issue on modern mild-hybrid vehicles.

Their local garage was happy to carry out the mechanical replacement, but once fitted, the replacement unit required coding, adaptation and calibration to the vehicle.

The garage contacted Diagnostic to complete the job.

As a VAG authorised independent dealer, we have access to ODIS Online, allowing us to carry out manufacturer-level diagnostics and programming on VAG vehicles.

In this case, we were able to use ODIS to configure and calibrate the replacement starter generator and 48V system.

Another busy week of Japanese import conversions completed. πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅βž‘οΈπŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

We’ve fully converted two Audi S3s and one VW Mk7 Golf R, bringing all three vehicles up to UK specification.

As part of the conversions, the original instrument clusters were completely replaced with genuine UK-specification clusters, while the head units were fully converted and updated with the latest available UK maps.

A comprehensive conversion to ensure these Japanese-imported vehicles are properly set up for the UK market. πŸ”§πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Another great retrofit completed on this 2016 VW Caddy. πŸ”§

The client came to us for a genuine OEM reverse camera upgrade, and while we had the vehicle in, we also wired in his Scirocco boost gauges ready for him to incorporate into the dashboard at a later stage.

The gauges are now wired and ready to go β€” the final dash installation and positioning will be completed by the client.

This A3 was recently purchased by the client, who discovered that the head unit had previously been replaced but hadn’t been correctly configured.

As a result, several key features were unavailable, including:
❌ Bluetooth
❌ Navigation / Maps
❌ Smartphone Interface / Apple CarPlay

We carried out the required software update before proceeding with the activation of the relevant licences and functions.

The result? βœ… A fully functioning OEM head unit with all the required features activated and working correctly.
