With sadness, I have to announce closure of TGS Autocare at the end of August 2024.

It's been a truly amazing ride looking after and maintaining your vehicles, breakdowns, mots etc, but an amazing opportunity has arisen for my career, which I have been pursuing for a long time.

This decision for me has been easy, although I do not like to let people down as many of you will know, I will happily assist where I can in sending you to recommended repair facilities and sorting out interim issues when and where i can.

All current booked in work will remain unaffected and will still be carried out, however no new bookings will be taken on.

From myself, I would like to thank everybody who has supported me and building this business to what it has become today, through blood, sweat, and yes, typically tears.
It is with no doubt, I will still keep my hand in on the tools from time to time and who knows what the future holds...

I will keep this page open for a bit to allow for messages etc while the transitioning takes place and people to get sorted.

Cheers for now,
Tom

Hi all, sorry not much has been posted here over the last few months, simply as we have been that busy! I am currently booked up until mid October which is fab!
So down to the nitty gritty and kicking off with some news and updates, our labour rate is going up as of the 1st of October, this is simply to help out with my travel expenses, cost of fuel, unit rental, wear and tear on my own vehicle etc.
Secondly, the MOT charge will be increasing slightly, I don't make massive money on each mot as it is, as I like to save you all as much as i can but in the times we are in, needs must!
Thanks to all existing customers for your continued support 🙃

It's been a while since I've posted here, but with a hectic end to last year, and a cracking start this year, I really haven't had the time, however, here are a handful of jobs and dangerous wear found on some vehicles to share with you. 😬
Currently taking bookings for late May 🚗🚙🚐đŸȘ›đŸ”§

It's been a crazy time recently, which is why I haven't posted much on here. July month has been absolutely mad for clutches as well as the usual work load! We have another car in tomorrow and a van on Friday for clutch replacements! đŸ€Ż

Sadly we are not taking on larger jobs now until September, we have some much needed time away booked at Great Dorset steam fair at the end of August.

MOT bookings being taken along with small maintenance and repairs 👍✅🚗💹
Big thanks to all customers, old and new!

On my way back this evening after dropping one of my customers cars home and helped this woman change her tyre, after seeing her there on my way through some 20 minutes earlier I couldn't drive past on the way back, it only took five minutes to do this small task but saved her waiting on the side of a busy road for breakdown services any longer, sad that no body in the pub she was right outside, or anyone else passing was able to offer her a hand even though she had asked for help. However, good Samaritan deed done, and a dam good feeling from within. 🙌👌😇

It's been a busy last few weeks, mainly getting our truck ready for the Mot, so for once I took a bit of a step back on the work load to prioritise that, however I have still managed to complete quite a large array of work for my customers, A mini cooper S for an alternator replacement, VW Up, for a cambelt change, sporty but poorly DS3 with a blocked DPF, a Skoda yeti in for MOT repairs, a wheel bearing on an A4, a couple of clutch replacements, plus fitting a split charge system and wiring on our own van, not forgetting a couple of quality car preparation inspections for our friends at SWO Autos. I do try to keep people moving and on the road as quickly as I can. Is it the weekend yet? 😮
More booked in this weekend starting with yet another vehicle in for DPF issues and a remap. 🙏 🚙💹

Although tyres can "look okay" sometimes it pays to have your cars inspected properly. This vehicle came in to us today for an interim service. As with any service we do, it includes a comprehensive vehicle check over. Being fitted to the rear you wouldn't really be able to see the tyre split easily, however, Customer made aware and some new tyres on order! Safety first! 😳😬👀

🚹VW Passat recovered in to us over the weekend with poor running/starting.🚹
RAC informed the customer that all four injectors where shot ...hmm, seems odd, right? Our thoughts too! đŸ€”đŸ€”
Turns out after some basic checks it had simply been misfueled. Fuel tank drained, the correct fuel added, new fuel filter and a diesel system additive later, it's ready to go again, running sweet as a nut. đŸ€˜

Been a busy few weeks, plenty of work on including a few breakdowns during the holiday season, Mots, servicing and repairs along with some of our own ongoing projects.
Here we recently changed a timing belt and waterpump on a very tidy Audi A5 2.0TDI for SWO Autos Ltd Always a pleasure to work and prep quality cars for them. Highly recommended too! If your looking for an upgrade why not give them a call or, visit their page 👀😎🚗đŸȘ›â˜Žïž

Little 1.0 Peugeot 208 came in to us recently for a full service and MOT. Having spent my early years training when these came out, these little 1.0/1.2VTI engines run a "wet timing belt" you can see why this is often overlooked by many as it's not obvious it runs a belt (worse again, in oil). I saved this one from a costly repair bill. 9 years old with 80k on it and it's never been replaced. One of the worst belts I've seen for perishing.
With the correct cam locking kit, and a new belt kit installed, this one's ready to go again for a good few years.
