Anyone with parents near Newcastle?

Random request but my daughter is doing a Masters in Speech & Language Therapy at Newcastle University and is looking for participants in a research project - won't take more than an hour and half. They need to be over 60 years old and not have any history of stroke or dementia.

Just wondering if anyone in North East has any suggestions / ideas / contacts please?

This week I’m helping 92 year-olds Adrian & Betty downsize from rural Wales to Leeds. Together for 77 years (despite “he’s never been one for romance”), they’re saying a sad goodbye to the house they’ve spent the last 30 years in.
When they first moved in they were warned about this ancient oak tree in the garden, as it housed an owl who once pecked someone’s eyes out. From then on it was given due reverence and know as The Owl Tree, from which they’d hear haunting hoots through many a night.

Another thing I love about my job is I get to work with interesting people every day. I’ve learnt so much from my clients. Today was such a day when a client pointed this out on their pond.

Who knew that dragonflies live under water for up to two years and then the nymph, as it’s known, climbs out onto a reed, so it’s adult body can emerge from the tiny husk of old skin, complete with beautiful iridescent wings.

Then it only lives for few more weeks or months. Imagine learning to fly just before you die - bitter sweet.

Many of my clients love cultivating a bag of bags. I come in and help them prune. Over the years I’ve built a healthy network of businesses, charities, schools & voluntary groups who are need and grateful for what I can send their way. is a prime example - they’re often on the look out for bags for their bottle shop so it’s good to send them to a good home, once I’ve weeded them out of a client’s home.
