We are requesting assistance to support our quest in winning the BTRDA RF1.0 Championship for 2012. This championship also takes in the Formula 1000 Forest and Super 1000 Championships as well as the different BTRDA Classes. Obviously there will be greater cost attached to this such as fuel, tyres, hotels, logistics, specialist insurance, chase car etc. As the championship is also likely to be rec
ognised by the British Rally Championship in 2012, subject to viability, we would also like to compete on one or two of these rounds and possibly in a Super 1000 round. Should you choose to support us we have plenty of available “key” advertising space on the car to advertise . In addition to this we will also be more than happy to wear your branded corporate ware EG t-shirts, polo shirts, jackets, hats etc to further maximise exposure. We will be also more than happy to make the car available to you for events such as open days, displays etc and you would be invited to attend any of the test days the championship holds either to try the cars out for yourself either as a driver or passenger. This would be a good opportunity for your clients too. Should you require further information please do not hesitate in contacting me directly on 07843 064 094 to discuss the various packages available. Kind regards,
DARREN RILEY
BTRDA RF1.0 FOREST CHAMPIONSHIP 2012 CONTENDERS
Hello there, we are DRB Rally Sport, a rally team from Hazel Grove, Stockport, Cheshire. For 2013 we are competing in the ANWCC and SD34 Championships. The Car:
The car we compete in is a Nissan Micra. This is owned by the co-driver who has had it for four years. It was an existing rally car when sourced, but has undergone considerable development since, including brand new welded-in roll cage, custom made exhaust system with Vortex back box and serious weight reduction (-50kg). The car fully complies with Motor Sport Association (MSA) and championship regulations. The Driver:
Danny Brown is 32 years old and has been competing for 4
years. As well as driving the Nissan Micra, he occasionally competes in his fathers mk1 Es**rt and is building a high spec mk2 Es**rt stage rally car. He lives in Stockport with his girlfriend and 2 year old daughter
and works as a mechanic. The Co-driver:
Darren Riley is 42 and has also been competing for 4 years. Prior to owning the Micra he owned a Vauxhall Nova 1.3 stage
rally car in which he competed with his wife, until she was side
lined with a wrist injury. Until recently he co-owned a
Vauxhall Nova road rally car which was built from a bare shell. He also lives in Stockport wife his wife of 9 years and their
8 year old son. Our Commitment:
2010 saw us finish 2nd in our first year in Formula 1000 tarmac championship. This included several podium finishes including 3 second place and 5 third place.
2011 was a little different. Darren took a sideways step, competing on only a few event, so he could concentrate on the development of the second car that was almost identical to the main car. To aid development of the main car this was later sold to free up colateral.
2012 saw a major change and step forward- we changed the car to a 1300cc. We finished an incredible 11th overall, first in class, with all odds stacked against us due to shocking weather conditions at the Heroes Stages Rally at Weeton. After several engine changes we have settled for an ex Challenge spec set up with 110bhp coupled to a gearbox with 5.1:1 crown wheel and pinion and limited slip differential. Also, for 2013, GRP Television will be filming our entire season, behind the scenes and on event for an on line documentary series 'The Rally Lowdown'. Service Crew:
For 2013 for all rounds we will have Peter Brown and Andy Gooding. Occasionally we will call on the services of the Team Questmead service crew to carry out the necessary works in the main service area. They are good friends of ours, a professional outfit who’s drivers have won all the F1000 Championships outright. Our own service crew will also carry out the chase car servicing. Overview:
Thank you for taking the time to read about our team, if you think sponsorship of this vehicle is something you would consider, you can be assured that your livery will be clearly seen on our well presented car. In 2010 at one rally we also won Best Presented F1000 car at the event. So you can rest assured that you will be represented in a professional manner. If you are
interested in sponsoring us, please contact Darren on

PLEASE NOTE: There are various “tweaks” on the car that at this stage we are not prepared to reveal. These are all allowable within the Championship rules and give us a little competitive edge over various other competitors. All have been “brought” onto the car following development. Some are visible, some not so, but all will be shown to scrutineers if requested. We have nothing to hide but we do not wish to reveal these “tweaks” to other competitors for obvious reasons.
