Tool confident, practical role supporting our vehicle builders. You’ll follow instructions, work well within a team, meet fast-paced deadlines, and maintain strong attention to detail. No experience required.
🔩 Skilled Vehicle Builder
A varied, hands-on workshop role building high quality bespoke vehicle conversions. Ideal for mechanically minded, DIY skilled or handyman backgrounds. Work includes carpentry, electrical fitting, fabrication, trimming, and general workshop tasks. Every project is different - from mobile offices and medical units to dog vans, emergency vehicles, and commercial fit-outs.
🚐 Field Fitter / Mobile Technician
Mechanically skilled (ex mechanic or similar). On site work, client call-outs, and hands-on repairs to live fleets. Must be confident with tools and hold a valid UK driving licence. Company vehicle provided. Some weekday overnight stays required.

We’re hiring an Electrical Design Engineer
Haydock | Full Time | Hands-On Role

Not every electrical design job should be stuck behind a desk.

At Car & Commercial Solutions Ltd (CCS) we design and build specialist vehicles for public sector and commercial fleets across the UK — from police vehicles and dog units to occupational health vans and bespoke fleet builds.

Last year alone we delivered over 3,000 converted vehicles, and as the business continues to grow we’re looking to strengthen our electrical design capability.

We’re looking for an Electrical Design Engineer who understands both design and real-world installation. Someone who can produce proper electrical schematics, but is also happy to step onto the workshop floor when needed to support builds, testing and problem solving.

This role is a mix of engineering design and hands-on involvement, working closely with our production team to develop reliable electrical systems for specialist vehicle conversions.

What the role involves

• Designing electrical systems for specialist vehicle conversions
• Producing wiring diagrams and schematics using CAD-based electrical design software
• Developing wiring layouts and electrical integration solutions
• Supporting prototype builds and new product development
• Working closely with production teams to ensure designs are practical and buildable
• Assisting with troubleshooting and electrical problem solving when required

What we’re looking for

• Electrical design experience within automotive, commercial vehicle, plant or similar industries
• CAD experience is essential for producing wiring diagrams and schematics
• Strong understanding of 12V / 24V vehicle electrical systems
• Practical electrical knowledge and fault finding ability
• Someone comfortable working both at a desk and on the workshop floor
• A practical mindset and good communication skills

Working hours

Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
Friday: 7:00am – 3:30pm

Car & Commercial Solutions Ltd is growing again.

We’re looking for a commercially capable individual to work directly with senior leadership and help drive structured, sustainable growth across our specialist vehicle conversion business.

This is not a KPI-chasing sales job.
It’s a commercially responsible role focused on generating real income, developing relationships, and identifying opportunities across multiple departments.

We design and deliver bespoke vehicle solutions for fleet and public sector clients, operating as a one-stop solution with in-house fabrication, electrical integration, racking, paint and full build capability.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

• Generating new business opportunities
• Identifying and submitting relevant tenders
• Reactivating dormant accounts
• Managing selected key accounts
• Meeting fleet managers and procurement teams
• Converting technical requirements into structured proposals
• Working closely with production to ensure commercial viability

You’ll Need:

• Proven business development or account management experience
• Background in automotive, fleet, engineering or manufacturing preferred
• Commercial awareness and structured thinking
• Confidence in client-facing environments
• Ability to manage your own pipeline

Hybrid role (office / client visits / home working)
Mon–Thurs: 07:00–16:00
Fri: 07:00–15:30
Company vehicle included

This role reports directly to the Operations Director and carries genuine influence within the business.
