Been doing some work for my mates Jaguar Kougar special the last couple of weeks, based on early Jaguar S type, big tubular space frame with grp body, irs rear axle, ifs front suspension, 3.8 xk engine on triple SU’s and side exit windows exhaust, it’s a bit of a beast.
Shout out to the good guys
Wharf Garage in Lancashire for supply of gearbox and misc bits, they bent over backwards to do a good deal, packed up on a pallet for my courier and kept me informed at every stage of the process, highly professional.
Complete Chroming restoration in Carlisle for repairs and re chrome panels of the grille.
Border Engines in Berwick for new valve seats in the cylinder head.
Hoping to get this ready to go to Thirlestane car show in June, though we are pushing our luck with this target date.
We didn’t have such good luck with Classic Jaguar Racing who make these Kougar kits today, they weren’t very helpful at all, I won’t go into details but hope they treat other customers better than this as I personally found their attitude appalling.
Will update as job progresses.

It has taken almost a year to clear out a load of smaller jobs that I took on a while back for an ex employee to tackle, the aforementioned employee turned into the biggest waste of space imaginable that I had to get rid of him, it took months for me to go through all his work and put it right, it cost me endless hours and thousands of £’s and nearly broke my business. I’m still here though and things are getting back to normal at last.
Recent projects completed include ;
2x Range Rover Classics welded and back on the road.
Range Rover LSE for small repairs.
Mazda MX5 body repairs, re spray and Dinitrol rustproofing.
Classic Mini welding.
Suzuki Jimny pick up conversion inc extended cab, new pick up bed, Raptor re spray plus misc Mot work to get back on the road.
I haven’t advertised or done any promotion for over a year yet work is still coming in and forming a queue outside even after telling folk it’ll be 12 months before I can even start.… Oh well I’d better get cracking on with it, older jobs will get seen to first before new ones get started, if that’s you it’ll be your turn soon.

Apologies to all my customers for major delays in getting work out the door, I had to sack a member of staff as he was totally incompetent and I have spent the last few weeks correcting all his mistakes at my own cost, he was very clever at covering up his mess as well as having a good line of convincing bs. I’d rather you had to wait a bit longer or lose a job as you can’t wait to get the work done than send a shoddy job out the door. Just a couple more weeks of this mayhem and we’ll settle down to something more normal.

Busy last couple of weeks, classic Mini welding completed, thanks Rob for your help, car now back home with it’s owner, 2 week turnaround.
Bentley Arnage 6.8 twin turbo in for rear suspension and rear tyres, thanks to Craig Motors across the road for doing this for me, I basically just road tested before and after and handled the job for my client, beautiful car, I want one of these.
New brakes fitted to Range Rover Classic and final fit up after welding sills etc.
MX-5 sills welded and 1x rear arch corrosion cut out and new sections fabricated and welded in, now getting prepped for paint.
Range Rover Classic, investigated low oil pressure problem, unfortunately will require an engine rebuild.
Range Rover L322 4.4 petrol engine has been partially dismantled by an idiot who has lost half the bits, brought in to be put back together but easiest and most cost effective solution is to find another good engine to replace this.
Had a good tidy up and moved some if the cars about, V12 E-type is now out from under it’s cover and sitting by the ramp, parts are being sorted through as I write and work will commence on the build as from now.
5.2 V8 engine will be coming soon to go into one of the Range Rover Classics, exciting stuff, can’t wait for that car to start going together.
