This car came in to us for diagnosis recently with a clutch issue that had been evident by the customer for a few weeks! ❌

After our diagnosis we suspected a faulty/worn clutch causing a clutch slip!
Once we removed the gearbox and clutch assembly we identified that the flywheel had been damaged by the prolonged clutch slip, Which overall cost the customer a lot more! 😭

This could have potentially been avoided if the customer came to us as soon as they noticed a difference in the feel of the car! ✅

Hello again! 👋

We have been super busy here at precision automotive keeping all your vehicles on the road! ✅

We just wanted to reiterate something to every one, in regard to a car we had in recently. This (full service history) Nissan qashqai came into us with a rattle noise upon start up, we inspected the car and suspected a faulty timing chain or chain tensioner. ❌

So we got to work stripping the engine down to replace these and what we found shocked us! Considering this vehicle was bought with full service history… we begged to differ! 🤔
Once we saw this we were confident that this was the cause of the rattle!

So there’s 2 points to take from this…. 🖊️

1• when buying a vehicle, pay particular attention to the maintenance history (invoices from previous work don’t just rely on the service book being stamped) ✅
2• keep your car regularly serviced in accordance with the manufacturer guideline’s ✅

After replacing the chain,tensioner and guides we cleaned as much of the engine internal as we could and carried out 2 seperate oil flushes to keep this car going for many more years! 💪

Have a go go karting! 🏎️

Bit of a different one for us yesterday, we had one of our customers bring his son’s go kart engine in as he had a mishap with the spark plug and the threads 🤦🏻‍♂️

The spark plug had picked up and damaged the threads in the engine, so we managed to get new threads tapped into the engine, replaced the spark plug and now this go kart engine is ready to go back in the kart and get back out on the race track! 🏁

Not firing on all cylinders! 👎

We recently had this VW Caddy in for a misfire, after some diagnosis, we identified that cylinder no.3 fuel injector had an internal electrical fault. ❌

After informing the customer of this and the price to fix the van, we got the go ahead! ✅

We replaced the injector including a new clamp bolt and sealing washer, got the injector coded into the van and now it’s firing on all cylinders again! ✅

Not everything is a simple as this and every fault requires correct diagnosis to ascertain the cause! 📈

We go on a lot about making sure you carry out regular servicing of your vehicle and part of that should also include your gearbox! ⚙️

Neglecting your gearbox could see you stalled at the lights! 🛑

All gearbox’s have oil inside of them and a lot of automatic type gearboxes have filters which also need replacing. 🛠️

We recently had this golf in for an automatic gearbox service and as you can see by the filter, it looks like it has definitely been neglected. So we replaced the filter and the oil with the correct grade for this type of gearbox. Now the customer can be rest assured he can shift into top gear and hit the gas! 🚗

First of all, from everyone here at precision automotive we want to say a massive Thankyou to all of our customers and all of our friends and family who have helped us build this business and grow our reputation! 👏

Due to all the hard work and massive customer base we have built, this does unfortunately mean that we are now having to go VAT registered. This isn’t something we want to do as we always do our best for all of our customers to keep costs down but Mr tax man would now like his share! 👎

We will still always do our best to keep costs down to a minimum and keep as competitive as we can! ✅
