Remember the G-Wagon we posted last Saturday? 👀

After replacing the brake pads and wear sensors, we headed out for a full road test to make sure everything was performing exactly as it should.

All checks passed with flying colours! ✅

Before handing the keys back, we also topped up the engine oil and screen wash. They're small jobs, but they're all part of the care and attention every customer can expect at AR Autos.

Fixing the fault is only part of the job. Sending your car back in the best possible condition is just as important! 🙌

Did Alfa really just straight up take the Ferrari V8 and chop off two cylinders? 🤔

Sometimes one warning light uncovers a much bigger problem! 🚨

Ryan brought his G-Wagon into the workshop after a brake warning light appeared on the dashboard.

After removing the huge 24-inch wheels and carrying out a full inspection, we found the rear brake pad wear sensor had done exactly what it was supposed to do. But while checking the rest of the braking system, we also spotted something far more serious...

The driver's side front pads still had some life left in them, but the passenger side front pad was almost completely worn away!

Catching it when we did meant we could replace the pads and wear sensors before they wore down to metal, saving the brake discs and avoiding a much more expensive repair.

New pads and wear sensors have now been fitted, everything has been reassembled and checked over, and we'll carry out the final pedal and braking checks before getting Ryan safely back on the road.

It's a great reminder that warning lights are there for a reason, and a thorough inspection can often prevent a much bigger bill later on.

The best performance upgrade you can make isn't always the most exciting. 🔧

It's easy to get caught up in bigger turbos, exhaust systems, remaps and suspension upgrades. Trust us... we love those things too!

But the biggest difference you can make to the longevity and reliability of your car is keeping on top of the basics.

Regular oil checks. Routine servicing. Fresh fluids. Preventative maintenance. A proper health check before small issues become expensive ones.

Time and time again, we see cars that have had thousands spent on modifications but have been let down by neglected maintenance.

MOT fail? We've got it covered. 👌

This Jaguar XJ arrived with an MOT advisory that needed attention: excessive play in the lower suspension arm.

It's a key component of the suspension system, so it's important to replace it before it has a bigger impact on the car's handling, stability and safety.

A brand-new lower arm is now being fitted, after which we'll carry out our final checks before getting the customer safely back on the road.

Motorsport has a funny way of keeping you humble... 🏁

After weeks of preparation, the Race MiTo arrived at Brands Hatch feeling ready for another spin around the track. The replacement engine was running well, everything had been checked over, and confidence was high heading out of the assembly area.

Then, less than a lap later, it was over...

An unmistakable driveshaft failure brought the weekend to an abrupt stop.

Back to the workshop we went, a replacement driveshaft was fitted, and it was straight back up to Brands Hatch determined to get some laps under our belt. Unfortunately, history repeated itself. Another lap, another driveshaft failure!

At that point it was clear the driveshaft wasn't the problem. It was simply the symptom.

After digging a little deeper, we traced the issue back to worn engine mounts. Under heavy right-hand cornering, the engine and gearbox were moving just enough to overload the driveshaft, causing it to fail.

Thankfully, it's a fixable problem.

The car is now fitted with new engine mounts and Powerflex inserts to reduce movement, giving us every chance of putting this issue behind us.

Next stop: Festival Italia at Brands Hatch. Hopefully this time we'll be talking about lap times instead of driveshafts! 👊🏁

The little details make all the difference. 🦂

This 595 rolled into the workshop with plenty of personality.

Custom scorpion decals, matching front and rear badges, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and a striking red engine cover all give this car its own identity.

Our job is making sure it performs every bit as well as it looks.

Keeping this Abarth cool for the summer. ❄️🐝

This Abarth came in for a service, and the owner mentioned the air conditioning wasn't blowing as cold as it should.

After carrying out a full leak and pressure test, everything checked out as it should. We found the system was simply a little low on refrigerant, so we regassed it with fresh gas, fresh oil and UV dye before testing it again.

Everything is now working as it should, and we'll ask the customer to keep an eye on it over the coming weeks.
