WOW vehicles are getting crazy to fix nowadays🧐🧐🧐
Two cars this week that both needed genuine dealer scanners with authorised security access.
First up a Mercedes ML350 with a failed transmission shifter module, special order from the factory as this is a security related module, we tried our luck to program with our day to day scanners but they were having none of it🤣
They only cost about £20k combined and still can't do it! 👀
Mercedes Xentry connected to vehicle, all security checks passed and module successfully programmed to vehicle. No trip to the dealer needed ✅
Up next a Mini with a faulty body control module not allowing the fuel pump to run, beached whale 🐳, new bcm fitted but vehicle now in transport mode so lots of restrictions like wipers not working etc . And again no go with the normal scanners.
This time BMW ISTA, scanner created a test plan for us and unlocked the transport mode, vehicle back up and running. No trip to the dealer needed ✅
Point of this post is to highlight the need for genuine tooling to see jobs to the end, without them we either decline the work or diagnose the fault but find out we can't see it through due to lack of tooling and have that conversation with the customer.
