“WHAT’S YOUR BEST PRICE?” 😬
Well… the one we quoted you. 😂
Something has happened THREE TIMES this week, so we thought it was worth addressing.
When you walk into Tesco with your weekly shop, do you get to the till and say:
“Any chance you can do me a deal?”
No.
When Starbucks tells you your coffee is £4.50, do you reply:
“Can you price match Costa?”
Probably not.
When you put £100 of fuel in your car, do you wander into the petrol station and ask:
“What can you do for cash?”
Definitely not. 😂
So why do people think it’s perfectly normal to email a small independent business asking for a discount or price match — sometimes before we’ve even given them a price?
Three people this week have done exactly that.
So here’s our official discount policy:
NO. 😂
We don’t want to be the cheapest detailer.
We want to be the one you choose because you know your car will be looked after properly.
You’re paying for our experience, our workmanship, the products we use, the equipment we’ve invested in, the time we spend on your car and the standard we expect from every job that leaves our workshop.
That’s what we compete on.
Not price.
We’re also a small business employing a small, hardworking team.
That means wages, rent, electricity, insurance, products, equipment, training, taxes and about 400 other bills that seem to magically appear every month. 😂
And while we’re here…
“Can you knock the VAT off?”
No.
We don’t get to keep that bit.
If you’ve got an issue with VAT, you’ll need to take that one up with Mr Burnham. We’re just the poor sods collecting it. 😂
But here’s the important bit…
If you genuinely want your car detailed but the package you’ve looked at doesn’t fit your budget, TALK TO US.
We’d much rather tailor a package around your budget than simply knock money off the same amount of work.
There’s a big difference.
Because despite what some people think, all detailers aren’t the same.
Yes, technically we’re all “just cleaning cars.”
In the same way a Michelin-star chef and the bloke working the fryer at your local takeaway are both “just cooking food.” 😂
You aren’t just paying for the task.
You’re paying for who’s doing it.
Detailers are a bit like tattoo artists:
Good ones aren’t cheap.
Cheap ones aren’t good.
And we have absolutely no interest in being the cheapest.
