Another busy day for Mobile Trailer Servicing & Repairs!

Today we were working on two Ifor Williams trailers, carrying out servicing, repairs and putting right a few issues that needed attention.
The GX106 plant trailer needed quite a bit of work, including new brake shoes after discovering the original linings were starting to delaminate, replacement Bowden cables, new coupling bellows and a replacement 13-pin electrical lead.
We also repaired the rear light and number plate mounting.
One of the biggest concerns was the incorrect wheels and tyres fitted to the trailer. The tyres were actually rubbing against the chassis! Something that could easily lead to a tyre failure. We’ll be returning shortly to fit the correct wheels and tyres.

We also returned to a TT105G tipper trailer to replace the worn rear wheel and tyre assembly identified during our previous service.

It’s jobs like these that show why a proper trailer inspection matters. It’s not just about adjusting brakes and greasing bearings. It’s about spotting problems before they become something far more serious.

ANOTHER TRAILER BACK ON THE ROAD.

A busy few days for us working on this Ifor Williams GX106 plant trailer.
What started as a service and repairs turned into a much bigger job than originally anticipated!

✅ Complete braking system overhaul
✅ New brake shoes all round
✅ New wheel bearings and brake cables
✅ Replacement brake drum
✅ Complete electrical rewire
✅ New LED rear lights and front marker lights
✅ New plugs, fly lead and waterproof junction box
✅ Full trailer service and inspection

The electrical system was particularly challenging, requiring us to strip out all the old wiring and start again.
A considerable amount of work, but a great result. Another hardworking commercial trailer brought back into service.

What started as a service turned into a much bigger job, including a complete braking system overhaul, new brake shoes, wheel bearings and cables, and one new brake drum. We also carried out a full rewire with new LED rear lights, front marker lights, plugs, fly lead, and waterproof junction box. The electrics were a challenge, but the result speaks for itself. A considerable amount of work, but a great outcome. Another hardworking trailer, brought back into service.

Four new suspension shock absorbers fitted today 🔧

Leo and I replaced all four worn shocks on this horse trailer, carrying out the work at the customer’s site and saving them the hassle of bringing it to a workshop.

Would you know these problems were there?

These are just some of the components we’ve removed from trailers during routine servicing — cracked tyres, worn and damaged brake components, failed bearings and other defects that aren’t always obvious from the outside.
A trailer can look perfectly fine sitting on the drive or in the yard, but underneath can be a very different story.
Regular servicing gives us the opportunity to inspect the brakes, bearings, tyres, suspension, coupling, chassis and electrical system — and identify wear before it develops into a bigger problem.
If you can’t remember the last time your trailer was properly serviced, it might be time to get it checked.

Just finished work on this Ifor Williams plant trailer. Fitted new Bowden cables and two new brake drums, replaced a marker light, and gave it a thorough check over. All set for work.

Busy one on this Ifor Williams TT105G tipper.

We carried out a full service along with a good amount of repair work, including new Bowden cables, new wheel bearings, new hub caps, new retaining nuts, a new breakaway cable and a new jockey wheel.

We also repaired the hydraulic system and fitted a new hydraulic reservoir, then refitted the offside mudguard with a new front mounting bracket.

Brakes, handbrake and lights were all checked and working correctly.

One rear tyre is showing uneven wear and is down around the legal limit, so we’ve advised that it is monitored closely and replaced as soon as possible.

Another trailer serviced and repaired on site, ready to get back to work.

Not often you get to see one of these — a Clubstar horse trailer!

After servicing and repairing thousands of trailers over the years, this is actually the first Clubstar we’ve had through our hands.

This one is a little different too, as it’s being prepared for a new life as a mobile bar rather than returning to horse transport duties.

Always interesting to come across something a bit unusual — and another reminder that no two trailers are ever quite the same.
