On the 30th of July, Letty was on her way from home to open the shop and begin slowly returning to work after a period of leave.
Unfortunately, on her way over, Letty was T-boned by a car whose driver pulled out at a give-way junction. The car collided with Letty and her motorbike, sending her flying around 15ft from the point of impact, where she landed on the ground.
As a result of the impact, Letty suffered some serious injuries. She broke her left leg in two places, damaging both the shin bone and thigh bone. She also suffered damage to her right wrist and right knee, along with other injuries that are still being assessed.
Letty had to undergo surgery on her left leg, where two metal rods and screws were fitted to stabilise and repair the fractures. Nine days after the accident, the hospital finally allowed her to leave and continue her recovery at home.
It is going to be a long road to recovery for Letty, and unfortunately, this accident has left her with a lifelong injury.
Thankfully, Letty is recovering well at her mum's, and we are taking things one day at a time.
Here at Conquerors Apparel, we always say:
“We wear what we stock.”
And it’s true.
Without Letty wearing all of her riding kit, the outcome could have been 10,000 times worse.
Her Scorpion helmet protected her head from any serious damage — not even a busted lip!
Her Motogirl Jodie Mesh Jacket helped protect her from serious skin damage and further injuries.
Her Rheon Back Protector protected her back and helped prevent any major damage.
Her Bull-it Jeans protected her from road rash and serious skin damage.
Her Motogirl Yoko Gloves protected her hands and kept the skin intact.
When you see the injuries Letty has suffered, it really drives home just how important proper riding kit is.
With all of that being said, we are simply incredibly grateful that Letty is alive and that things were not even worse.
We are now looking at holding a silent auction to help raise funds for the Sussex Air Ambulance, who attended the scene and played an important part in getting Letty the help she needed.
Once everything is set up, we will be holding a weekend-long fundraising event.
If you are a business, or know of a business, that would like to donate something towards the auction, please get in touch with us.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help.
❤️ Thank you to everyone who has checked in on Letty, sent messages, offered support and kept her in your thoughts. It genuinely means the world to all of us at Conquerors. ❤️
