Some new exciting news! We have made it to the finals of Top Garage award! Brilliant news to start this week with for us and all the team.

A bit of exciting news for us here at Ramsey Hill Garage! ⭐️

We’ve been nominated for the Fleet Rising Star Award, alongside a handful of other garages that have also been shortlisted, including some really well-respected names in the industry. 🏆

It’s particularly special for us as we’re only in our first year of fleet and lease work. In that time, we’ve had the opportunity to work alongside some great companies — from local businesses to global firms — and it’s been a really exciting part of the growth of the garage.

And while we’ve been growing our fleet and lease work, we’ve continued doing what we’ve always done — looking after our amazing local community. Whether it’s a retail customer or a fleet customer, we pride ourselves on providing the same high standards of service, workmanship and care to every vehicle that comes through our doors.

To be recognised alongside garages from across the country is something we’re genuinely proud of.

Our Managing Director, Frazer, will be attending the awards in Birmingham next Friday, so everyone keep your fingers crossed for us! 🤞🏆

A massive thank you to all our customers, both retail and fleet, for continuing to support Ramsey Hill Garage. We really appreciate it! ❤️

Thanks Timothy Guidotti and all at The Fleet Guy.

Lets talk Servicing and Oils.....

🔧 Ever wonder why we're fussy about what oil goes in your engine? It's not just "oil is oil" — manufacturers spend years testing specific formulations against their engine tolerances, and getting it wrong can mean anything from a noisier engine to real long-term damage.

That's why at Ramsey Hill Garage we use FUCHS oil 🛢️ — approved and recommended to meet manufacturer specifications, not just a cheaper alternative that happens to be the right viscosity. Whether it's a modern turbocharged engine needing a specific low-ash formulation or an older unit with its own requirements, we make sure what goes in matches what the manufacturer actually asked for.

Getting it right matters ⚠️ — the wrong oil won't cause problems overnight, but it's often the quiet cause of bigger issues (turbo wear, DPF and emissions problems) further down the line. Using the correct oil from the start heads that off.

It's a small thing most people never think about, but it's exactly the kind of detail that separates a proper service from a quick oil change. Over 25 years we've built this garage on doing it right, not doing it fast. ✅

Another interesting diagnostic job here at Ramsey Hill Garage.

This vehicle had already been diagnosed elsewhere on several occasions, with a different issue being identified each time. The customer was understandably concerned after being given increasingly worrying information about the fault.

Rather than guessing or simply replacing parts, we used the correct diagnostic tools, testing procedures and methods to properly investigate the misfire.

After carrying out our own thorough testing, we were able to pinpoint the actual cause of the problem and confirm our findings to the customer.

The good news? The issue wasn’t anywhere near as bad as the customer had previously been led to believe. 🙌

This is exactly why proper diagnostics matter. Finding the actual fault can save you unnecessary repairs, parts and expense.

🚐 2023 Peugeot Partner – Engine Fault

This Peugeot Partner came to us with an engine fault warning on the dash, so we booked it in for a full diagnostic assessment.

We found the van was just outside its manufacturer’s warranty and diagnosed several issues with the AdBlue/emissions system, including the need for genuine DPF/SCR and AdBlue components.

Once repaired, the vehicle needed its adaptations reset to tell the van that new components had been fitted.

💻 We also found a software update was available and, thanks to our genuine Peugeot dealer diagnostic tool, we were able to carry this out too.

So the customer got the diagnosis, repair, programming and software update all completed in one visit — saving them a trip to the manufacturer!

Our Thursday was made! ❤️🇳🇱

Back in November, we had the pleasure of helping a lovely customer from Holland who had a split brake pipe shortly after getting off the ferry in Harwich while on holiday.

Fast forward to today, and he was back across the water — and because we’re only a short distance from the ferry, he popped in to see us with the most thoughtful thank-you gift. 🥰

He’d picked up some freshly baked Dutch bread (a delicious, sweet brioche-style loaf coated in sugar) just before getting on the ferry in Holland and brought it straight to us. Needless to say, the whole team loved it! 😋

It was genuinely lovely to see him again and to know that he remembered us after all this time. Moments like this are exactly why we love what we do.

We’re always proud to help people who are travelling through Harwich, whether they’re just arriving off the ferry or getting ready to head home. Knowing that the first thing they find when they arrive is someone friendly, helpful and trustworthy means a lot to us.

Thank you so much for the kind gift — it really did make our Thursday! 🇳🇱❤️🇬🇧
