Parrans-Smith Motorsport We currently compete in an NC Mazda MX5, in BRSCC and MSVR Championships. In our spare time, we work on classic cars.

In the past we have successfully competed in Junior Rotax, Honda Cadet, Sprints, Hillclimbs and the BARC Junior Saloon Car Championship.

One of the problems of motorsport is you accumulate ‘stuff’, thinking it will come in handy…!? 😂 I’m having bit of a sort out in the container this morning and have found some karting wheels and tyres; all last used in July 2021, Dan’s final half season before switching to cars. I’m going to list them on the popular sites, but just in case any of my karting mates want anything, I’ll do a quick general list:

OTK MXJ - set of 4
OTK MXC - 2 x sets of 4 (one fairly new, one older)
OTK Wet Rims - 2 x sets of 4
Wet tyres, one set newish and one used (2021 vintage so free to a good home)

We had a fun weekend at Anglesey with Dan and Hills Motorsport 👍🏻 Dan raced as as guest in the MSV Miata Trophy, as a warmup for the SuperCup next month, but decided to use Aidan’s Mk4 ND MX5, to save his usual Mk3.

We weren’t expecting much as it’s not as quick on the straight, but it was great in the twisty stuff, so Dan stuck it on pole position 👍🏻🤩

Race 1 was great, and Dan led the field until a couple of laps from the end, when over heating tyres caused him to spin out… 😢 But he had fun.

Race 2 Dan started from down in 16th on the grid, and he had driven up to 4th, when sadly the race was red flagged behind the safety car at just over half distance (the drivers were ok, but tyre wall damage). So who knows, but motorsport is like that; we all love it though!

Thanks to Hills Motorsport for letting Dan try the Mk4, and trusting me not to break it spannering, and it’s back to the Mk3 at Cadwell on Wednesday 👍🏻
