4.0 V8 Vantage for a 8 year service.

Full dealer service history and in great condition.

Sparks plugs are due every 40 k not on age.
This car has only has only covered 25 k so the plugs were 8 years old.

We advise replacing the plugs every 4 years regardless of mileage.

We really had trouble removing 2 of the plugs, these early coil packs really can be tricky to remove, with out damaging them as they get brittle with age due to the heat from the turbos.

As always, under trays removed, cleaned and fixings lubed.

Aux belts and air filters etc Inspected.

One under tray bolt was seized,
new bolt and thread repaired. 🙂

V12S Vantage back for a service including spark plugs, coil packs and PCV valves.

Love this colour.

We also replaced the caliper bleed ni***es with stainless versions and new dust caps.
The inner ni***es were seized.

Seeing lot of seized bleed ni***es now days
I think its due to a lack of brake fluid changes and age, but on the newer cars I think the metal used is poor compared to the older cars.

We are very good at removing them but in some cases they will shear or damage the threads.

He have a great engineer who removes the broken sec on his milling machine and fits an insert if the threads are damaged or corroded. (Not a helicoil.) so the caliper looks totally std.

Some of these V12S s are over 10 years old now, feeling old. 😞

I thought we would just explain
a little more about how we work and service Aston Martins at AHM.

This V8 Vantage and a DBX for example have both been dealer serviced from new.

The service menu plans in most cases are working to a price point or free for the 1st 5 years on the AM platform cars.
They just don’t work.

Some may disagree but
having to remove the wheels with force, 2 people required, due to being seized to the hubs is unacceptable with full service history at a main dealer when the wheels have not been removed, hubs not cleaned and lubed in most cases, then blocked air or pollen filters.
Its not acceptable.

Brake fluid changes are often carried out without removing the wheels risking fluid coming in contact with the wheels as access is tricky.

Under trays not removed and fixings lubricated.

Here at AHM all our services included a wheels off inspection.

Oil and filter change.

Air filters are checked every service and replaced if required.

We are a small company on a small industrial estate.

We love the brands we work on here and we will not cut corners.🙂

Aston Martin V8 Vantage F1 Edition in for non starting and a year 4 service.

Another G # # Immobiliser problem.
See picture 3 below.

The G # # wiring Just spliced with twisted wires into the cars Can Bus system and not very well hidden.

Poor work like this even on cars of this value, shocking.

The product is great
when fitted and configured correctly.

We see many cars with no problems, its a great bit of kit, but we have also seen a good few with problems over the years, mainly fitment.

We are seeing this to often.

Some of the installers are I’m guessing trying to fit 100 units a day on Bonus.

More DBX work service work.

We really like these cars.
They are very LARGE 🙂

So this service includes Gear box oil and filter,(Sump pan) change and transfer box oil change.

DBX do require very specific oils as do all Astons of course but DBX being 4 wheel drive has many oil types for each diff, gearbox and transfer box.
Plus the know how to carry out this work.
AMDS 2 is required for engine oil levels to be set as they have no dip stick.
Gear box temperatures for the correct gear oil level.

Plus of course the correct diagnostics of all systems on these cars.

V8 4.0 Vantage for a service.

New owner of this lovely V12 Vantage wanted it perfect.

New clutch, flywheel and slave cylinder as the old unit was slipping badly.

We also replaced some rusty bolts around the engine bay, with genuine bolts.

New caliper bleed ni***es.

New rear light unit.

Replaced the cracked dash ski slope.

Road tested and new flywheel learnt.

Misfire readings saved to our AMDS and so on.
